Yet they also claim there are no grounds to fire him; that anyone who thinks so is overreacting. Sorry (or better yet, "I'm soooooory"), but that seems to me, and when you add into the fact that the team has played poorly in September now for 2 straight years, to make a very strong case for a new direction where a skipper is concerned. Again, both N and B, immediately prior to making all those claims, that Wash is in no way on the hot seat. Very Norm-like, IMO.BBQnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8577236709648198825.post-68186863815713257642013-09-15T23:34:51.230-05:002013-09-15T23:34:51.230-05:00Couldn't agree with your assessment more, Plai...Couldn't agree with your assessment more, Plainsman. Did you also happen to catch the Diamond Talk that aired about 15 minutes or so after the Cowboys Post? Great stuff all around. I also agree with you about Norm. This isn't something of late, either. He's been inconsistent in some of his analyses for years now. I can always tell when he knows a caller has got the best of him: he'll keep the caller on air for an extended period of time until either he can somehow get the caller to agree with him (which in essence usually means the caller agreeing to his own point, but as re-worded by Norm) or talk his way around to agreeing with the caller, and then telling the caller that the caller is right about A, but that we don't live in a perfect world, "so there." How ever it goes down, and it does quite often, both on his daily show and the Cowboy Postgame Show, it's painful to listen to. Norm likes, nay, demands to be agreed with; and in the exact terms and phrasing of how he sees it. I hear some of the same thing go on in Diamond Talk. For instance, this afternoon both Newbury and Bass were saying how Wash isn't really to blame for what is and what has gone on this season. Only right thereafter go on to spell out in concrete terms all of the poor and puzzling decisions he makes on a regular basis; decisions which cost games. I think this phenomenon is something that comes with the job: you keep talking about a certain topic over and over, day in and day out, and you get to not only repeating yourself, but also you lose your sea-legs in a sense.

BBQnoreply@blogger.com
