It was a discussion type show set in a bar. Martin was the host, behind the bar and Galloway was a semi-regular. Skip was on at times along with Dale Hanson, the other local TV anchors, with an occasional musical guest. Blackie and Jim Dent were also on. It was always on the uhf channels, it seemed to bounce from 21 to 33 to 39 to 27. It came on at odd times and you had to hunt for it at times.

It was also the first time I remember seeing Craig and George. They had a group of young local talent on and they were doing impersonations of local sports host. I think Brad Sham was amused and Dale Hanson was not.

There may also still be a version of this show on one of the spanish channels. It uses a female host but still the same format. Does anyone remember in the first years of Jimmy-Jerry era, there was a local, late-nite televised sports show. Can't remember who hosted, but it was done up in a late night talk show fashion complete with a house band. The Paul Shaffer-esk band leaders last name was Spicegood, or maybe Swicegood, and if my memory is correct, he committed suicide due to some legal problems. Anyway, one show had Galloway and Skip Bayless together as guest. Man, you could tell they could not stand each other. Galloway was giving Bayless a hard time about his new book. Bayless condescendly asked Galloway if he ever even read books, and had he even taken time to read his. Galloway came back with a quick 'No, frankly I haven't! I haven't been that bored yet!' lol...classic Galloway!slinkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03514615546479356807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8577236709648198825.post-60477637807322645772016-09-21T16:58:24.046-05:002016-09-21T16:58:24.046-05:00If a black man using that word rates a mention on ...If a black man using that word rates a mention on e-news, I suggest Corby and Danny avoid rap music in the future.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8577236709648198825.post-6984657312731020572016-09-21T08:18:10.419-05:002016-09-21T08:18:10.419-05:00It looks like the troll Greggo was waging twitter ...It looks like the troll Greggo was waging twitter war with has been suspended. In addition to your observation regardi...P-Man,
In addition to your observation regarding the sound/strength of Danny's voice at times, I've noticed that there are certain words and expressions that used to be mainly used by Corby, are now being used by Danny and Mike as well. So much so that it reminds me of the Ticket's early days when they hosted the Barry Switzer weekly call-in show and about 30 minutes before Barry came on, they would set the Over/Under # on "Hell, Damn, Crap" references by Switzer. During the show, every time Barry said one of the 3 "magic words", the board-op would softly ring a bell in the background without Switzer knowing why. Made for great radio.

So for entertainment value, for the past several months while driving home from work each evening, I try to count how many times Danny, Corby and Mike will say "Man" or "You Know" or "I Guarantee You" in just the 1 hour or less drive time I'm listening. If the board op ever tried to ring a bell for every time THL uttered one of those words from 3 pm till 7 pm, he'd develop Carpal Tunnel by the time his shift was complete.

One little bit of irony about that as well...the original Hard Line show used to have a segment called the "Ya Know Olympics" where they would weekly play audio of player interviews and count the "You Know" statements and THL would just laugh at how dumb they sounded.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
