BREAKING: You Can Grab Just One Butt-Cheek, Only for about Twenty Seconds; Better, Just Fondle It Gently
International radio industry sources are tweeting on the Deep Twitter:
Sean Bass: Permanent Muser Tickerman.
Nothing too butt-worthy there, long-predicted outcome.
T.C. Fleming: Permanent Midday Tickerman.
"Permanent," of course, being an HR term and not one that necessarily describes their likely tenures.
Someday, someone will tell me an interesting story about T.C.'s return to The Ticket. Maybe pretty soon, who knows? How, after a peculiarly graceless exit from a station that had given him generous exposure from extremely humble beginnings, and a much-ballyhooed but brief stint as a host in Pensacola, he has returned as a regular voice on The Ticket.
The man has some skills, as I've suggested in the past. So perhaps the Western Hemispherical Catman is exercising prudence in promoting someone who knows the station, its personalities, and its traditions, and who can put together a produced segment on short notice. Probably not a talent that's easy to find.
Perhaps it's that.
Someone knows.
All right, get your hand out from under your trousers.
.
Never ever been a fan of TC. He hasn't improved at all since he started. He must have something on someone up there. No other argument explains Carlos Leal ending up with a knife in his back. This clearly wasn't based on talent when it comes to the biggest bag of zilch at The Ticket...
ReplyDeleteThat's a bit harsh, no?
ReplyDeleteI think TC works fine as contributor type, rather than main host. I am talking the type of role that Sean had on BaDD and Norm. I thought TC really improved when he hosted the top ten. Now I agree as main host, he really struggles. The few times I have heard him on weekends were painful. But I think he will do fine on tickers and as a contributing role to Norm and Bad Radio.
ReplyDeleteNot when you consider that the person (I won't say talent because he has none) sounds exactly the same now as he did in his debut. No improvement, not even an attempt to improve. He has zero humility, very stuck up. His only purpose on air is to provide a whipping boy for those who do have talent. Fah fuh fuh fuh fah doesn't a career make. Carlos Leal got screwed.
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree, Mr. McDiggity. I too am not necessarily a fan of TC but you have to at least say he has made progress.
ReplyDeleteThat may be a back handed compliment considering how bad he was when he started. However, if Jake sees something in him, who am I to judge.
Maybe this is just me and the onset of good-ole-days syndrome, but am I the only one missing the days when Followill was doing afternoon tickers and Skip Hicks doing morning tickers?
I have a feeling Bob and Dan have a lot to do with TC getting this position. I'll bet they lobbied Cat for it. He's already working for them (BaD website/merchandise), has worked for them in the past, has a close relationship with Dan, has a podcast/close relationship with BaD's producer (Jake), and "gets" the show in both flow and feel (not an easy thing to "get" when dealing with the BaD boys). To me it makes perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteI listen everyday, most all day. My job is as such that I can. So I've heard most of TC's work since his return. His initial stab at Sports Saturday/Sunday was indeed awful. Shockingly so. There was zero growth. He seemed to have learned nothing from his experience in Pensacola--either where on-air chops or humility were concerned. As time has passed, TC has improved greatly. His Tickers are articulate, informative, and yet still contain a germ of TC's personality/sense of humor while not being all about TC (a problem he's had in the past). In short: I think he's found his groove, finally.
I have to wonder what Sean is thinking? While this seems like a promotion, prima facie, is it? He's a newly wed with newborn and a young step child at home. Getting up at 3:00 am or even earlier, going to bed at who knows what hour during Ranger season (and any night for that matter with such a household), little to no sleep, and the two days you can in theory sleep in (Sat. and Sun.), on one of them you have an 8 am show to host. I'm exhausted just typing this, much less living it out. And I could go on with even more time demands this all places on Sean! Not only all this, but also could this possibly mean the CTO views Sean more of behind the scenes, management/front office/corporate material than on air talent? And let's say he can no longer host Diamond Talk because of the demand on his time, what about the baseball guy niche he's worked so hard at attaining? I think you'd have to be fairly obtuse not to see that's how he's been trying to sell himself the past 4 years. It seems to me he's ever publicly auditioning/applying for some sort of broadcast position with the Ranger organization. Oh, and what about his occasional Rough Rider booth duties? Will those too suffer?
I wish Sean the best. I'm a fan. But with his family situation, I don't' see how he can manage all these balls in the air for any sustained amount of time. Thus I wonder about his new position. I wonder if it was a "take it or leave" (not "leave it") deal? Because it doesn't seem ideal for him.
I agree with Jiggity McDiggity. TC is awful, and a smug prick as well. But his worst trait is his inability to shut his mouth. For some reason he must jump in, even when he has nothing to offer (which is 95% of the time).
ReplyDeleteI am so bloody pissed that I now have to listen to his worthless gob on my favorite show every day.
I agree with whomever indicated it was likely pull from the BaD boys and people keep underestimating the stroke that Jake has at the Ticket. It is pretty clear he is perceived by Sr. Management as the "future" of the Lil Ticket. TC and Jake are best friends and it is only a matter of a few years until IJB will be part of the daily line-up.
ReplyDeleteI love TC being added to the BaD mix. It's a great fit all around. BaD has never been better.
ReplyDeleteCartoon Jerry returned yesterday. Too bad, I would have liked to hear Gordon play with Actual Jerry a little longer.
ReplyDeleteI like TC, and I also understand the criticism. He's an acquired taste to most, but I love IJB so anytime I hear him on air it's ok with me. I agree with others that Jake and BaD radio boys probably lobbied for TC.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I do wonder though (because I agree Jake will have his own show sometime in the future), will it be with Sean or TC? Management has already paired him with Sean instead of TC once. If TC was really viewed as his future on air partner, I think the Sunday morning show would be that pair.
I have a soft spot for guys who stick their foot in the door and succeed by sheer dint of persistence and not taking no for an answer. It's why I try to give T.C. the benefit of a scrupulously fair hearing each time. A guy who showed up with nothing, got thoroughly abused by the on-air talent, but took it all and developed an on-air presence that was at least palatable. A good story. At this point, I'm kind of in darkiguana's camp. I think T.C. did a better-than-good job with the Top Ten and his Tickers are also perfectly good. He is not a compelling host at this point for some of the reasons others have noted, mainly, his tendency to air-hog (a problem in Pensacola, based on my limited listening to replays) and a sometimes halting delivery. However, just like he improved in his limited on-air roles, maybe he can improve as a host. I haven't punched him out the last couple times I've heard him host.
ReplyDeleteHere's the problem I have: My reaction to him on the air is colored, fairly or unfairly, by his extraordinarily poor form in his leaving of The Ticket and the weirdness of the whole Pensacola fiasco. (That he took a shot at this site is neither here nor there -- if I didn't "like" every Ticket guy who doesn't care for this site, I'd never tune in.) For better or worse, we form some kind of idea about the kind of guy these guys are from the exposure they throw out to us, on the air and off. T.C. then and now comes off as an exemplar of his generation -- entitled, self-regarding, and oblivious. I think T.C. still has a fair amount of fence-mending to do with a lot of listeners, and, I suspect, with some of his colleagues.
Still kind of rooting for him, but caring less than I used to. It'll be interesting to see how much leash the BaD boys give him to pop on, and what he does with it.
I wish Sean the best on morning tickers. This is not a knock on him, but more on the hosts: occasionally he inserts himself into the sports talk and Junior & George seem annoyed by a new voice joining the talk. This was noticeable on his fill-in days way back too. I thought Logan would succeed because he tended to "know his place" better and rarely joined these segments.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, Sean is a great addition to the mornings and maybe we'll actually get some baseball postseason news now.
Sean will be great for The Musers, and at this point, might be the only ticker guy that fits in with that show. But as was said by someone else, I can't see how he is going to handle the crazy hours. They even talked about it this morning. I'm truly concerned for him.
ReplyDeletesean wont have to worry about diamond talk anymore
ReplyDeleteTC is like radio herp. Just because he has stuck around doesn't make it a good thing.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest Ticket nightmare has come true. I had a sinking feeling TC would become a permanent fixture again once he left Pensacola and the last week he was doing Tickers made me fear the worst. ANON 10:15 summed it up perfectly. I'm pretty pissed I now have to put up with this idiot every day. I honestly don't understand why the job didn't go to Justin Montemayor. I thought he did the best job all around. His Tickers were really solid, relatively error free, and he didn't find the need to force himself into every segment. I think Cat screwed this decision up and I simply don't know what he could have been thinking.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Sean is concerned, I'm really surprised he agreed to this move unless it was Cumulus dictated and they gave him no option. I just don't see how he'll manage it with Diamond Talk next season, two small kids, and the Shake Joint on Sundays. Not to mention he's a huge baseball nerd who always liked contributing to any baseball talk and would be annoyed when it was ignored at times. Well the Musers are probably the least interested in baseball of all the hosts and they definitely aren't into all the nerdy stats and analytics that BaD Radio loved. If Sean hated when Norm or BaD didn't talk enough baseball he's going to have a hard time with the morning show.
I hope Seabass is getting a big raise.
My guess would be Sean is done with Diamond Talk or Diamond Talk is done altogether.
ReplyDeleteAre we still not talking about how Russ Martin continues to beat the hardline for #1 in M25-54 in the monthly ratings? Has been consistent the past 3-4 months. This month it was RMS at #1 with a 6.3 and Hardline at #2 with a 5.8
ReplyDelete-Not Spittle, Not Dawson, Not Richie
Not Spittle,
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you're a tool notwithstanding, I am interested in the slow decline of the HL. Haven't heard them gloat about their numbers in right about 3 or 4 months now, mmm. Wonder if it's getting under their skin.
Show us the numbers, prove you have something, or, bro, stop trolling. Put up or shut up. And yeah, chief, it is incumbent on you to show the proof, and not for us to "do the research." Why? Because you come on here and make the claims.
ReplyDeleteUntil you show the proof, you're just another douche troll; a sad little clown.
-Not Brentano, Not Husserl, Not Scheler
PS: I'm bummed about Justin M not getting a full-time weekday gig. He's more than solid, seems like a good dude, and whose contributions here at MTC are most appreciated.
TC is in, and now I am out. Yes, a person who should only speak every 20 minutes will keep me from listening. He writes his own copy, yet has the inability to read it.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that I know what the shows will talk about before they have the segment is a main reason why I listen less than ever. It is far way too predictable for me.
Outside of a segment on the local teams or Corby/Junes talking about OU, it is basically just reading Gawker Media (Deadspin/Jezebel/Gawker sites or the occasional teacher sleeping with a student with SNL/FOX Sunday comedy talk.
I'm relatively new to the blog but a longtime Ticket listener. Several have referenced TC's "graceless" departure to P'cola, and I'd like to know what details I missed.
ReplyDeleteAs a far-more-than-casual listener, it seemed to me that he was merely trying to climb the radio ladder. Any insight is welcome.
@Charm Offensive,
ReplyDeleteJust go back to the posts around the time TC announced his job change (March of this year) to read the comments. TC also conducted an AMA on reddit regarding The Ticket and his new job in Pensacola.
I can remember kickball head Follywill and the greatness of a Davey Lane ticker. I think his unintentional comedic reads helped create the emergency break back in the day. All that is to say there's been such a revolving door of ticker readers outside of Dick Hicks it makes one wonder how much effort is put into the hiring process; they're leaving in a year anyway. Reading tickers is seen as a stepping stone by the reader only, and when there's no advancement they move on to the Fan or PBS or somesuch. I don't like TC's contributions at all, I'd prefer they try experimenting with a novel idea called the "Mic off ticker." But he's one of a long list to wander through the door, check out the vending machines and wander out. Hopefully.
ReplyDelete@Charm Offensive
ReplyDeleteYeah, dig up his Reddit AMA to see why a lot of our mild distaste went to full-blown antipathy. The guy took shots at a lot of people on his way out, he was so assured of his impending stardom.
Hardline was #1 in May and August, 2nd in June July sept. And prob the reason it's not being talked about is Neilsen deep data. If you look at who the Ticket shares audience with, it's not so much the Eagle. Also not so much the Fan. They share most with, if memory serves, ESPN, kzps and Jack. That's why they had those "aren't you sick if that same classic rock songs" promo. Russ and his minion above msy feel like the Hardline is competition, I'm not sure it is reciprocated
ReplyDeleteNot surprising that a show that talks a lot about a sport very few listeners care about (hockey) and interviews people very few people know and/or care about would make a decision to hire a guy most people dislike. Bring back Jimmy Christopher
ReplyDeleteWhere's Kevin Scott when you need him?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words fellas
ReplyDeleteCome on, guys, T.C. just isn't that bad, and he does a nice job with Tickers. If you can get past what he did when he departed, he's not going to wreck BaD for you.
ReplyDeleteYes, his return to regular duty is a bit puzzling. But then, so is the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
And count me as another who likes Justin's plain-spoken approach to his duties.
I think there is no doubt that TC was brought back because of his close relationship with Bob, Dan, and Jake. I certainly understand the criticism of TC; yes, he does have a slightly annoying personality, and I don't understand how a guy who is unemployed finds the means to constantly travel the country on sports vacations.
ReplyDeleteBut, there is no doubt that he has good radio chemistry with the other guys and he is entertaining on the radio. And as a listener, that's all I care about.
As far as Leal or Justin not getting the job:
Leal - sounds like a nice guy and very professional, but no chemistry with the hosts.
Justin - good dude, but please stop taking that huge breath at the beginning of each ticker. It's very annoying coming through the FM dial.
Sean Bass - glad he's off middays..I could not stand his constant butting in anytime the word "baseball" or "rangers" was uttered. And the arguing with Norm and Bob and Dan showed he cared more about his own opinions than knowing his role on each show. I am glad that if he HAS to be on the air, it's on the musers. They will keep him somewhat quiet, and as someone mentioned, their lack of baseball talk will keep him out of the conversation.
So in total, the Sean Bass move and the addition of TC is an overall positive for my listening experience.
@Tom Foolery, thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to correct that.
ReplyDeleteJustin, I'm a P1D1, and you don't need have a breathing issue. Norm has a breathing issue. You don't. Keep on doing what you're doing playboy…
ReplyDeleteCount me as another Justin M. fan. Prefer his style and personality much more so than the vilified TC.
ReplyDeleteIf being the butt of every joke and stammering thru every conversation he has is chemistry, then give me Carlos or Justin. TC got his job thru kissing BaD's keister and being shady as hell (did you see that reddit). He really doesn't know sports as well as his fanboys want to believe. Why again should we have to be forced to suffer thru him for 5 hours? I know Cat reads these. Hey Cat, NOT EVERYONE LIKES TC. He is an instant punchout when he speaks. Here's a helpful tip. If he isn't good enough to be on the weekends, maybe he shouldn't take up a job during the week that someone or more accurately anyone can do better.
ReplyDeleteDamn Jiggety, did he sleep with your wife? Wait, that couldn't happen, did he kill your dog? Serious TC hatred there. No fan here but I don't wish death on the dude. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think TC is a member of the Ticket family. He has his flaws and has made mistakes and angered other members of the family, but it is “The Ticket way" to prefer a flawed member of the family over a smoother talking outsider.
ReplyDeleteGentlemen, gentlemen!
ReplyDeleteSince TC is simply not that bad a broadcaster, nor that widely exposed on The Ticket, the animosity has almost got to result from his noisy and ungrateful exit. See what I mean -- it's hard to hear him now without knowing what he thinks of his colleagues, and, most likely, you.
But time heals all wounds, everyone gets a second chance, so best to fight through it and try to judge the man on his output and not on his past errors of judgment, including his attempts to discourage people from shopping at My Ticket Confession.
Even Gordon piled on during the 8:40 bit yesterday. His sports newscaster character, Pants [McKenzie? didn't write it down, please correct me] came on with advice for Sean Bass in his new role as permanent Muser Tickerman.
ReplyDeleteOne of his gems was: "Study what T.C. Fleming does, and do just the opposite."
He also urged Sean to steer clear of "the forums on computer systems."
I understand TC has fans (for what I'll never know). I don't wish death on anything but his career. He obviously has money (guess being incredibly spare pays well) to pay for his sports vacations, so if he loses his job, he will be ok and we won't have to suffer either. I'll never like him. But no matter what I say, others will.
ReplyDelete@Tomfoolery:
ReplyDelete...I don't understand how a guy who is unemployed finds the means to constantly travel the country on sports vacations.
Wealthy parents, duh.
But, there is no doubt that he has good radio chemistry with the other guys and he is entertaining on the radio.
No doubt? I doubt very much. He has no chemistry; they just enjoy kicking him in the nuts.
Sean Bass - glad he's off middays..I could not stand his constant butting in...
But TC's interruptions don't bother you? He's the freaking king of butting in where he isn't needed, and he almost NEVER adds anything. He just can't stand to not be talking.
...showed he cared more about his own opinions than knowing his role on each show.
He's the Sports Director and a long-time employee. He was perfectly in his role, and he added a lot when Norm went off on a bizarre tangent. You wanna talk about knowing your role? Let's talk TC some more.
Anyway, nice try, TC. Next time just use your real name.
Plainsman, I've always disliked him on the air since the day I first heard him. His attitude, arrogance and general demeanor have always been a major turn off to me. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the nature of his departure as I wasn't even aware of the Reddit AMA until yesterday. He's always rubbed me the wrong way much more so than anyone else who's been on the station since I started listening in 2001. I'm guessing the majority of the animosity towards TC is due more to his presence on the air rather than anything he's said or done on a forum.
ReplyDeleteFinally, for the guy who hates Sean Bass jumping into BaD and Norm sports talk with his opinions you may want to hold onto your butt because TC is much worse at forcing himself into on air conversations but he rarely brings anything to the discussion. At least Sean has some worthwhile contributions occasionally. I can't say that at all about TC.
TC is terrible. Adding him to the mix along with the extremely arrogant and untalented Jake has officially made BADD Radio unlistenable. I'm done with 12-3 on The Ticket. How TC managed to work his way back in is amazing to me. He must have pics of Cat with farm animals or something.
ReplyDeleteStay hard.
1047:
ReplyDeleteI'll certainly accept that good-faith viewpoint. Not mine, but OK.
So . . . does T.C.'s full-time gig on BaD change your view of BaD itself? Some here, including Carlton just now, answer "yes." I mean, if Bob and Dan really thought the guy would turn off a large percentage of listeners -- and let us concede that Confessors may not be a representative cross-section of BaD tuners-in -- why would they advocate for him? Because he house-sits? I never thought of BaD as a show that didn't respect the P1.
Maybe he'll pop on less than some here are fearing. Then you only need to tune out on Tickers.
The whole BaD/intern thing is really fascinating to me. I know other shows have interns, but the hordes of BaD boys who apparently roam The Ticket like marauding packs of millennial wolves, irritating other shows and raiding food supplies -- they seem to be a species apart.
One of those things someone is going to spill to me someday.
Wow, I'm guessing there aren't too many IJB fans here if the distaste for TC is that strong....and how can anyone seriuosly not like Jake?
ReplyDeleteI really don't get the vitriol. I've been a longtime fan of IJB/Jake/TC.
ReplyDeleteBaD has always been my favorite show, so as I said above, this is absolutely the strongest the BaD crew has ever been. Including Mino on the board.
Is there more than one AMA Reddit from TC? I just read through the first one I found and kept waiting for some scathing review from everything that's said about it here and nothing was all that shocking to me. Everything he wrote sounded exactly like what I'd expect him say, given his personality both on air and especially on IJB.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the age breakdown would be on pro-TC vs anti-TC....
hold on to your butts if your butts liked hearing rangers games on 103.3 instead of hearing them on the fan
ReplyDeleteDidn't care before and certainly don't now.
ReplyDeleteSorry Plainsman,
ReplyDeleteI concur with many here is that TC remains as bad as he was before he left, which is as bad as breakroom coffee. Telling Rockets GM Daryl Morey to “suck it” was not funny, it was anti-funny.
I only listen to one IJB per month, and it is still full of:
Jake: Statement with two profanities
TC: Um...ya know...(insert profanity here)...I mean.
Jake: A “Yea, but” statement
TC: I mean...yea...um...like”
And as much as The Ticket wants the listener to think of them as family, then TC's character does matter. The Ticket wants me still to “listen longer”, well that will not happen if TC is on with Norm and BaD Radio*. I think this is as close to a “jumping the shark” moment as they can have. This hire, like the “Ladies Be Trippin'” episode during last year's NFL season do have their audience talking, but neither create enjoyable radio.
From his AMA, to not fulfilling BaD Radio bets, to using a media credntial of his former employer to attend the Final Four, TC displays questionable judgment. BaD Radio throwing one of his numerous bones to hawk the t-shirts illustrates to me that TC is still lazy and he is still overconfident in that he believes that he should be on-air in a Top 10 media market. He even stated that when he appeared on that local webshow (Mind Control) and had a hard time explaining his Pensacola departure and even the fact that it was not ESPN, but rather an affiliate.
Earlier this summer, TC sent out a tweet about the guy who he previously always referred to as the “owner” of the Pensacola station was forced out. Obviously, it was an attempt to throw shade on the same guy who hired/fired him. If one owned the station, I still find it hard to be forced out of your ownership in Pensacola.
Now, there is something which I did notice on Monday's episode and that was since TC's return, Bob is the biggest on-air bully of the three to TC, and Dan is the protective one both on and off air. Bob starts the avalanche of criticism and the drop parade.
*-NOTE: Those of us who listen via phone or online streaming, really are not important to them to begin with.
This concept of quitting BaD Radio because of a ticker reader is great comedy.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHere is my generalized theory on why many here hate TC (don't be offended, I don't mean you of course - just others) with a little bit of "good ol days" syndrome mixed in:
ReplyDeleteI have been coming to this site for years now (originally posting as P2 in MI), and a while back there was a subtle shift when it was confirmed that Ticket employees not only were coming here, but commenting. A lot of what was posted went from talking ABOUT the Ticket, to talking TO the Ticket.
Which leads me to the hate of TC/love of Justin: one of these comes through here on a regular basis and interacts with the commenters. This causes many (but not you, so don't be offended) to overly compliment one, while throwing shade on the other who has commented "not so nice things" on here and other forums in the past. This often clouds the comment section, IMO.
So . . . does T.C.'s full-time gig on BaD change your view of BaD itself?
ReplyDeleteBaDD Radio is my favorite show. But the chemistry was much better with Gribble and SeaBass. BaDD plus IJB not as good, for reasons I won't go into (partially becvause I'm not sure I can explain yet). You've basically got a JV team fighting for time in a show that is already reknown for talking over each other.
why would they advocate for him?
I'm guessing it's just pure loyalty. Dan, Donnie and Bob are really great persons, and they want to help someone they consider a friend. I think if they knew how much the P1 hates TC, they might have thought twice, because they really cvare about their show. But the truth is, they're not very tuned in. Dan and Donnie do not do social media. And Bob almost exclusively exports social media. They are the least dialed-in tot he P1 of the shows, IMO.
Maybe he'll pop on less than some here are fearing. Then you only need to tune out on Tickers.
This has already shown to be untrue, sadly.
Bottom line: If I wanted to hear Jake and TC, I would download their shitty podcast where they can drink and don't have to worry about going to bake. But I don't, because it's awful. And now it's a stain on the best program offered by The Ticket.
@Charles Golden
ReplyDeleteI don't dislike Jake, per se; I just think he would be bettwe suited at a station like ESPN. His strengths are good on-air delivery and excellent research. He creates no humor or chemistry of his own. Anything funny he has said or produced was referencing something that came before him.
don't believe me? Listen to The Shake Joint - the driest program on the Ticket - and compare/contrast to Cirque du Sirois, a genuinely funny and original program.
P.S. Jake tends to be a bit arrogant, and that doesn't help.
Oh, and one more thing, Charles Golden...
ReplyDeleteI'm quite certain the age breakdown of pro- vs. anti-TC is right along generational lines. Youth tends not to realize how entitled and uninformed they are until they have a few years under their belts. I'm sure TC and Jake are oblivious, while older P1s cringe at their attitudes.
Brad, your theory hold no water. TC interacts with twitter and reddit users, and there is as much (or more) vitriol there.
ReplyDelete@Carlton Maxwell -
ReplyDeleteAre you currently writing any books that you could share with TC on winning people and influencing friends?
Anon @ 1:53pm
ReplyDeleteMy comment was in regards to this site. Yes, I know of TC elsewhere because I am active in Twitter, etc. The thought is that what is said here is now shaped by who may or may not be reading what we say.
Let me ask it this way: Why so much run for Ticket Ticker guys/board-ops,etc. and not actual host? Because those are the guys who interact with us. And if you say something negative about MTC or its commenters, then the gloves are off.

ReplyDeleteSean...that's debatable. But Tom? Nobody liked Tom. (I mean nobody associated with BaD)
Nobody liked Tom. (I mean nobody associated with BaD)
ReplyDeleteand it made for radio gold.
Besides, Tom may not have been well-liked, but he was a man (he was 40).
Anon 10:30:
ReplyDeleteI am not TC - just a day 1 listener who does not care a bit about the personal, behind the scenes flaws and backstory of the voices coming out of the radio. Yes, TC is obviously a spoiled, immature young man who needs to grow up a little bit and learn some personal responsibility.
I deal with people's personal problems in my every day life enough as it is - I don't want to think about it while listening to the radio too. The Ticket is an escape for me, and for whatever reason, TC's chemistry with BaD and Jake is entertaining to listen to; Sean Bass is nails on a chalkboard to me.
If radio host's personal baggage prevented me from listening, I'm sure there would be nobody to listen to.

deezy, many thanks.
ReplyDeleteI hear a lot of The Ticket from my car and only retain bits and pieces for inclusion in the site. I keep a digital dictation thing handy most mornings but neglected it today. But I should have remembered that one.
As critics have noted, I'm not the best P1. So I need a primer on the t-shirt references.
ReplyDeleteT.C. made (or had made) these tees?
ReplyDeleteBADD Radio is now the worst show on The Ticket thanks to the additions of Jake & TC.
ReplyDelete^^^LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't know who does the awful artwork for the tees, but TC manages the enterprise. The stated goal was to help defray the cost of hosting bobanddan.com.
ReplyDeleteAnd as usual, Sports Panties is correct.
