(The resolution ain't the best, but this one brought me up short. Thought I'd share.)
Wait, I have a question. Occurred to me during the "interview with drunken Jerry" bit when George was pretending to talk to Gene. Does anyone know why Jerry replaced George with Jody Dean as the Cowboys' public address guy? Was it anything more than the change in flagship stations? Jody Dean isn't with The Fan, of course, but he is with CBS-owned KLUV.
Or does Jerry dislike The Ticket?

I don't think Jerry dislikes the Ticket. I know he likes the "fake Jonesy" as he calls it. I think moving the Cowboys to the Fan had more to do with signal strength. I have no idea why he let Jub go, but I do like the story about Jerry calling Jub to let him know he didn't have the gig anymore, and ending the call with "and we're still friends"
ReplyDeleteSounds like they have given up on trying to cut out the commercial breaks on the webcam. Too much broadcasting missed coming back from break.
ReplyDeleteThe Wham song payoff was greatness. George's bet payoff this morning was a failed bit. I don't think the bet was paid off correctly, but that is for Junes and Corby to decide.

I would bet $Texas that it had more to do with money than anything...
ready for a little mixup?
ReplyDeleteOkay, So Anon, it's been awhile so I'll bite. I hope there's a payoff on this one. My guess is JV is moving on...or over to 103.3. I'll say it's Machine.
ReplyDeleteI might be alone in this, but I thought the George payoff was hilarious. The way he nervously stuttered through it was great.
ReplyDelete@2:00pm. Touche! Probably the #1 reason.
ReplyDeleteDon't catch too much of the Hardline these days, But did hear Danny's reference to Fast Times At Ridgemont High today. I watched that for the first time in 25 years a few weeks back, and have to correct Big Dumb. Jennifer didn't lose her virginity to Damone. She lost it to the 26 year old, that drove the 280zx, and it was in the dugout of a baseball field. And get this, we learn she's only 16!! Why isn't "over the top" Corby doing a pedo, rage bit?! Still a funny movie, but I noticed a few things that we just didn't pay that much attention to back then. Rat telling customers about the "smoking section" on the second floor, and the fact that we just did not think that much about the consensual relationship between the 16 year old Stacy and her 26 year old crush.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the College Football Blowhard explain why Joe Mixon and Frank Shannon deserve a second chance but members of SAE do not.
