A home for those who love almost everything about The Ticket (1310 AM, 96.7 FM, Dallas-Fort Worth), and who would like to discuss -- respectfully and fondly -- their thoughts on how (and whether) to eliminate the "almost."

Ben + Skin + Travis Frederick
Really, really good. Forget about how Frederick's presence elevates B&S into listenability -- we're hearing a guy who will have a long broadcasting career after his football days are over.
All right, this post is a give-up. I've been absolutely slammed and feeling very, very bad that I haven't given the faithful Confessor any fresh content in way too long. Please accept my apologies. I've got a contribution from a Confessor in the hopper, but I haven't even gotten to that.
So, uh, leave some comments or stuff.

Hopefully, if Frederick does have a broadcast career he is taken under the watchful wing of Brad Sham. That worked out pretty well for Daryl Johnston and Troy Aikman.
ReplyDeleteBrad Sham is terrible though. And I imagine he'll be even worse by the time Travis would be ready for a broadcast career.
ReplyDeleteAll the current O-line guys are pretty awesome interviews. I'd much rather hear their thoughts than hear Jason Witten generic sound bites for the billionth time.
ReplyDeleteShaggy, your comments are terrible. And I imagine they'll only get worse with each subsequent posting.
ReplyDeleteQuestion...is Josh Ilers (the guy on the USAA spot) and engineer Tony (DANCING WITH THE STARS!) the same person?
ReplyDeleteFair question.
I find it odd yet interesting that Mr. Marshall has taken the events of yesterday and today quite poorly per his twitter. I haven't seen such a meltdown from primary or tertiary hosts since Dunham defending W back in the day. The boss might want to clamp down on that.
ReplyDeleteIt is time for Brad Sham to move to some other roll with the Cowboys. He may have been good at one time but I listen to most of the Cowboy games via radio and he gets 90% of the plays wrong. If you listen you hear Brad make the call then you wait for the correction from Babe so that you can know what really happened. It is madding when you don't have the video and you need to go by what you hear to understand what is happening on the field.
ReplyDeleteThere is a time for everything and Brad Sham's play-by-play should have ended 10 years ago.
Cowboys please help out a radio listener !
Thanks for supporting your own comment, Shaggy.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have misspelled 'role' and 'maddening' though.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know where Sean Bass is? Vacation? Noticeably absent from morning tickers and TSJ this weekend.

ReplyDeleteLike it or not, Brad Sham is the Vin Scully of Cowboys play by play. He will be there as long as Jerruh draws breath. If you want, maddening play call where every play is WTF I kindly direct you to Dave South and any random Aggie game.
Hasn't Homer Call of the Week shown us how lucky the DFW area is with its local play by play announcers.
For those who don't like Brad and Babe (who has his own league of haters) who do you replace them with and why.
Sbass probably trannied out and participated in the Vag march in DC.
ReplyDeleteI'd replace them with me and Shaggy.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a problem with Brad; I maybe could do without the "walk the dog" bit. I think he and Babe work pretty well together, at least I enjoy them. Remember the meltdown that was Charlie Waters? Great dude but terrible color guy. Glad Hanson's ass got fired, now if channel 8 would follow suit.
