Luv me some Jub.
ReplyDeleteWow that was quite the awkward no-show by Dennis Smith Jr. on the Musers about 30 minutes ago, at the start of the 9am segment I think. Seems like DSJ just pulled the rug out from under them because he overslept or something. Jub tried to take a diplomatic approach of saying it was "communication issues" and Fernando jumped in to put it squarely on DSJ. I don't blame Fernando at all for keeping things real and Craig also then made a strong comment about rookies keeping their appointments. Definitely not a good look for DSJ or our Mavs
ReplyDeleteSo, was yesterday's 840/today's replay of it a case where Jer forgot to put the "deep throat informer" vocal effect on Gordon's voice? Even though the character had a name and was not some "insider," Gordon did all the cadences, inflection, etc., of the deep throat informer character sans the vocal effect. I liked it because I could, for once, actually hear what the hell he was saying.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think Jer didn't turn the dial up enough. I think Gordon hadn't fully baked the bit although I also thought it was funny and hope it isn't one of his one-shots. Gordon is obsessive about control of his humor offerings, and I'm sure he exercised firm editorial control over the dial-tweakin'.
ReplyDeleteDid you hear him bail at the end, saying "this character is too unstable"? Funny.
