Mickey Jones, RIP

Mickey Jones was a drummer with Bob Dylan, Kenny Rogers, and other notables. He then went on to have an acting career, most notably in "Home Improvement" and movies "Sling Blade," "Starman," and "Tin Cup."

The Ticket connection?

As most Ticket followers know, VJ Boyd, a writer-producer on "Justified," has written the names of many Ticket notables into the scripts for that wonderful series:  Ty Walker, T.C. Fleming, Gordon Keith, others.

Jones played Rodney "Hot Rod" Dunham in the show.  Of course, we know the beloved George on The Musers, and his affection for a movie he believes is underappreciated by everyone but him, "Hot Rod."

So there's your Ticket connection.

And here's your redhead "Justified" connection, Alicia Witt, who portrayed Wendy Crowe.

 Have a fine weekend, Confessors.

  1. For the record, I agree with the commenters who wished I had gotten to those comments more quickly. They're gone as are the responses.

Anyone out there getting geeked up for Ticketstock? Very interested in this Friday Night Live thing.

  4. I'll be asking P1s to weigh in with commentary and photos. Friday nights are tough and I have another obligation on Saturday. So unlikely I'll be at the Stock this year, wish it were otherwise. Always hoping to get some nice shots of Ticket Chicks for the site. Hey, why don't some of you guys collect some TChick snaps and send them in to ThePlainsmans1310@gmail.com. Sucks that this site doesn't support attached materials in comments.

Based on my other visits, I'm mildly skeptical at the efficacy of scripted (worse, unscripted) skits in the general mayhem of the on-stage presentations and the considerable ambient noise from the venue. Onstage conversation is sometimes hard to make out even when they're all just sitting around talking, muddied. Good luck getting that all wired up. Getting everyone miked up for audible dialogue might prove a challenge.

    Good luck, my Killer.

But I applaud The Ticket for trying something different. I'm assuming the results will be available on YouTube or maybe the Ticket website in short order. In any case, I hope some of you will be present and can give us your thoughts on that and the whole TS experience.

Remember, lots of Ticket Chick photos, preferably with Confessors present and identified. (Anonymity permitted.)
