A home for those who love almost everything about The Ticket (1310 AM, 96.7 FM, Dallas-Fort Worth), and who would like to discuss -- respectfully and fondly -- their thoughts on how (and whether) to eliminate the "almost."
Well, okay, things got better in the comments to the last post.
Still not great. I should have booted some snark, but I let it go.
I remind you that among the things that will get the heave-ho are entries that are excessively precious or incomprehensible, or choked with allusions and initializations that make sense to maybe the Confessor and two of his friends.
Not monitoring yet, but it remains a possibility.

Thomas Charles Fleming was a long-time Cumulus/Ticket employee who held a variety of positions, from overnight board op to Ticker Man. He also hosts a popular podcast called It’s Just Banter with another former Cumulus/Ticket employee named Jacob Kemp. “TC” currently also works for DLLS in video production. He is well-loved by many here so not sure why you think everybody hates him. He is a real grinder.
Glad you enjoy our pod. I'd do more epis, but I'm too busy concerning myself with false narratives, spreading lies, and in general picking up where I left off in high school. Yeah. I'm THAT guy.
Are you there, George? It's me, Dan. I fucked up, man. What was I thinking? I'm busting my ass hustling advert and trying to keep the content, ya know, actually creative. Meanwhile, The Golden Parachute is busy burning down the Dragon's Den. George, I gotta get out of this mess. I was such a fool. Help me, George Dunham, you're my only hope. (P.S. Call Cat)
As compared to what? Reddit? The place you go for mods and admins to invent then disseminate falsehoods that are eagerly slathered up and spread further by their commenters, and finally by public figures. And no one ever even hints at a "Got that wrong." Where you just pretend like it never happened, at best; or pull a version of the god of the gaps where you implicitly claim psychic abilities and just "know" the baseless bullsh is true. How about Ticket reddit shut down instead.
The owner removing comments on a thread that was started yesterday proves otherwise about him not caring. Maybe Ticket Reddit where you can complain about the Ticket all day or say you no longer listen but somehow always have something to say about the product you claim to no longer listen to is more your speed.
Ha! I love the TSS hate. They have driven me away from The Ticket after lunch. I'd love to hear old Greggo describe just how spare they are. Or Bob tell us just how empty their bag is.
Hot take from Reddit: They’re preparing us for the first AI show
Yes! And C will go on and on how the ratings are just not that bad and how much they are billing. And damn, they don't have to pay three salaries!
I don't mind the TSS. It's not the Hang Zone or BAD Radio. It's less than 2 hours a day and has some decent segments. The ones I don't care for, I skip. But here's the thing, you don't have to get it. You are not in charge of Ticket programming, a thing that's very difficult for Reddit to get its hateful, entitled mind around. You are there to either listen to the show or listen to something else. The ratings are decent so it will stay on the air. But the constant bashing is why I hope Reddit continues to be tortured by it. They have options, still they do nothing but endlessly complain about something no one is forcing them to listen to. But then it wouldn't be the irritainment they just can't stop talking and thinking about.
I guess I should write an essay like your buddy on Reddit. I like the show. It's not the Hang Zone or BAD but it's fine for my given it's two hours. I don't feel the need to drone on and on about its shortcomings. I wish they could use Monty more but it's a decent mix of sports and entertainment. The great thing is it should be around for a while which will piss off people like you and Reddit. That's a win in my book.
I'm sorry that I exactly answered the question you exactly asked. Specific moments? Did you need specific dates of segments or particular NIT breaks I enjoyed? I loved their Rangers World Series coverage as the only show that seemingly acts like the area has a baseball team, their parade coverage, their segments on Monty's cancer, their play by play nutkicking of Ham, and the Worst Day of the Year segments with Junior. There's 5 or would you like me to keep going so you can have some sort of vindication? Or is it fine if I enjoy something that you may not? I know the Reddit way is to hate something but also make it so everyone else has to also hate it for you to feel fulfilled.
That's not an HSO. It's nonsensical. You love that you hate TSS and can no longer listen middays, and that you'd dig on hearing idiot GW "rip" them. The same GW who fd up af went to Twitter and ape s calling the late E Gossage a pedo. And then wrap it up in a "go on with your ratings" bow of a, uh, force field. OK, man.
The ratings track side by sude, often exceeding THZ. But don't let that get in your way. The demanding others to lust things for you only speaks to your immaturity.
Don't forget to add, Dap, about bullying 'em into an opinion, lie to you die about a situation or person(s) until mass hysteria ensues. A month later, not a single shred of proof. Nothing. But there's brave Jake with his up fucks and risible self righteousness. TC and his thin skinned, myopic, childish, eternal whining. Sirois and Danny with their "speculations", ie, pathetic grabs for views and for the attention of an already small and ever shrinking audience seeking dirt--real or invented (guess which type is most prevalent). Shameful. Try delivering something other than a late middle aged piss poor version of Wayne's World. Wayne's World was a f'n skit.
I"m in the camp that thinks TSS is fine too. I have made comments and gotten the same reactions as well of "Fine???? That's quite the compliment!!!" Ya, i'm not saying it's the greatest show ever, but I don't lose any sleep over it. TSS is fine to me, I actually did not like THZ so there's that.
It's not just that they hate it and can't understand the appeal of a less than 2 hour midday show they don't actively have to listen to. It's that you also cannot enjoy anything they do not like. It's such strange behavior. People can like what they like. Why the need to constantly berate something that you claim no longer matters to you is something I'll just never get. I don't listen to DZ or Cirque at all. I don't feel the need to bash them. We all are free to make our own choices. They certainly all did.
How about they're going to be employed for a while and it's great that it annoys you. Maybe start another outrage thread on Reddit about how much it angers you that a spare midday show replaced your favorites who chose to leave the station. Oh they could've gotten someone else. You would've hated them too.
The asthma field is Reddit because it's full of tired whining.
I maybe missed two segments a week in the Bad Radio days... Now, I (literally, wink) never listen to 10-3... And what I've learned is that my non-participation has had zero effect on the ratings...
The people on Reddit sub need to remember that the opposite of love isn't hate - it's indifference.
Them annuities getting on your nerves, TraTra? Maybe a bate sesh will do ya right. I suggest a pic of Greenspan cir. '97 as material. Either that or a current live shot of Lita Ford. Bitch can still rock the spandex like a champ. Fupa is preggers black widow-esque. Top shelf jaccin.
Latest CdS is something else. Those dudes are pathetic. Siroises have always been opportunistic grifters with an insatiable thirst for attention and fame. Danny, on the other hand. . . I contend that at some point he will wake up from this gutter ball stupor and think, "What have I done? Who have I become?"
Saw it. The Mod A and Mod B shirts. More Cat / Ticket talk. Agree. It saddens me. For some, getting older is very difficult. Realizing you're no longer looked to or looked at as you once were can be a bitter pill to swallow. Sometimes the reaction to it manifests in rather unattractive, even destructive ways. I think with CdS and a few others, we're seeing this unfortunate phenomenon played out before our very eyes.
Thing that has become slightly tedious lately on the Ticket:
Sensible comments by a host (for example, Bob or George) that outrage culture is out of control, that the worst voices on the Internet are being amplified in wild disproportion to their importance, etc...
Here comes O-deck/ Enews where Gordon and Davey read mean tweets from these same people... Usually from right of center people, cuz, you know...
Speaking of the Hardline, have we had disinterested Corby of late? I admit to having a small sample size but it seems like most of what I've heard from him lately has been what trip he went on recently or what movie he saw with his kids. I don't think we've had a visit from the College Football Blowhard segment at all so far. I realize personal stories have always been part of the ticket host repitoire and maybe I'm only hearing those segments but Bob made a comment in passing about the Blowhard being too busy on trips. It was all good natured but it did make me think that I can't remember Corby doing much lately that required any effort on his part.
A lot of people seem to think Dan and Jake were fired. They weren’t. They were offered new contracts. The two of them turned it down. They could have still been on the Ticket. It was their choice. They are not victims.
They hosted a three-hour, midday show. They were paid accordingly. They wanted more money. They were told it wasn’t going to happen. They walked. They weren’t Micah Parsons.
Cumulus tried to change the language in their contracts that they’d been working under for years. Didn’t think they’d notice. They also forced minimum wage workers to sign non-competes in order to get a raise.
Thanks for sharing that. Extremely interesting. Any other personal stuff you wanna let us know about? Fave color, go to dessert, ya know, shit like that.
DumbZone blows. Boring af. Dan is an uncomfortable listen. Jake is self righteous, has no sense of irony as it relates to his own self awareness, and pretty much gets everything wrong and does so with supreme confidence. Gross.
TDZ is not going anywhere. They are doing fine with all their paid sponsors and various forms of monetization. Probably not Ticket drive time fine but good enough to make a living on their own terms. I know that drives you Cat love virtue signalers nuts which seems to be 90 percent of the people on this board. You can praise Cat as much as you want but the Ticket is not going to offer a job or the time of day for that matter.
I bet Cat wishes he had even 1/32nd of the power you weirdly invested hive members think he has. BTW, by their own admission TDZ isn't even making what they did middays at TT. I'm going off facts. You and your ilk, on the other hand, make shit up. Then again, you all live in a fantasy world where a pd runs an entire station and its parent corporation. And where this omnipotent pd forced "generational talent" to leave by not firing talent that had contracts and were earning good ratings--which, you know, is the chief measuring stick of their success. I can go on, but there's no reason to, as it's akin to talking to futon.
Still waiting on one shred of evidence vis-a-vis Cat, Peter, and reddit to be presented. Meanwhile, BK is still MIA (well, at least under that alias--he's a long time, big time MTC troll), sad Sirois and Danny are still, desperately trying to milk it, and the rest of you geniuses (including Up Fucking Points 4 Sex Man and his Cake Eating sidekick) just pretend like it never happened.
Hey guys. Sorry about that comment. Clearly I have self esteem issues and a serious problem with that old green eyed monster. My promise to you all is to do my darnedest to be better. I also ask you to hold me accountable for any petty, pathetic comment I foist upon you.
There’s a very good reason that Baldwin and Connelly won’t be hosting AM drive anytime soon. And why Work in Progress won’t either. Experience. They were willing to gamble on a couple of dudes without full time experience to take a 2 hour midday shift. I don’t believe Cumulus will risk a drive time to untested talent. That’s why I’m convinced Danny, Sirois and Jake were never considered to replace Rhyner or Norm. They were willing to try Jake, knowing he wasn’t making a lot of money or locked into a long term deal. I just don’t think the Cumulus Power wielders realized how butt hurt both Jake and Dan would be by the chair shuffling of 2020. Mcclarin was a known factor. Time on ESPN, time on a cumulus station in Jacksonville, they knew he knew how to do a show and get ratings. Bass and Mino were shipped off to 2 of the least important of the prime daytime hours, not given drive time hours. So yeah, I don’t think Baldwin or Connelly are next up. But here’s an interesting thought exercise: 1. With few exceptions, once you leave the bunker you’re not allowed back in. 2. They seem hesitant to hire from other markets unless like MM the person has some kind of ticket history. 3. I’ve heard rumors that the current Muser deal is for 5 years. Given those points, what do you think TT line up looks like in 8 years? Invasion, sweet spot, work in progress, hardline? C
It would not surprise me at all if the Hardline departs before the Musers. I personally have feeling that Corby will be the first of the “big names” to leave TT. I’ve nothing to support that but a gut feeling. I used to be sure that Craig would be the first of the non OGW or Norm host to leave but now he has more reason to stay with the kid I think the Musers exit at the end of the contract as a show. I don’t see any of them sticking around without the others. I don’t know who you get to replace them. I’m not sure they are replaceable.i also think you’re getting into real “Ship of Theseus” territory when the Musers leave. There really won’t be anything left of the original station at that point.
See, Hive Fucks, THIS is how you in a genteel fashion BOTH praise AND criticize something that truly holds high valued stock in your proverbial pprtfolio.
Slow day at the office for me so I've been pondering C's question. My first thought is that it won't matter what the station looks like in 8 years because I'll probably be dead by then. I honestly don't think the new Morning show is currently at the station. I guess WiP could move to Mornings, but being the show that follows the Musers isn't something I'd wish one anyone. I can see WiP in afternoon drive easier than mornings. I can't see the Invasion moving to either Drive Time slots, but if they did I think it would be Afternoon. Sweet Spot might move to the Invasion slot but I really don't see them as Drive Time worthy at all. They are fine for Middays but I can't imagine them in Drive time at all. I think whoever has to replace The Musers is in for a rough ride and I don't envy Cat or Bennet having to make that decision if they are still there at the end of the Musers' contract.
Is the Ticket even the Ticket with none of the originals in place? Corby, Bob and Donnie have all been there a long time and all are good at what they do. I'd put Bob against anyone for straight sports talk but without whatever magic powers the Musketeers of the Ticket had how long does the Ticket last without any of them? My guess is not long, at least not in a way any of use long term P1s would recognize. I would think it will become a much more generic station without any of the original people. Maybe that's just the power of nostalgia but I think the train really does come to an end with the Musers exit. That's not to say the station may not continue to be a success but I don't think it is the Ticket anymore after that.
No not kidding. It chuckled at the U2 bit. Would it have been better if he had written the songs and performed them himself? Yes. Though unless one is as talented as those who have done that sort of thing regularly it can also go very badly and end up being terrible. I think most people doing fill in shouldn't even try the 8:40 bit.
I'm grateful that Bob checks Corby on Corby's take on Mavs fans, specifically those of us who are Never Nicos. I don't appreciate Corby's dismissiveness of us, and I like that Bob represents our part of the (former?) fan base. Now, if only he would shorten his questions....
I think Corby is right on this honestly. Remember Bob said that Nico will HAVE to resign? Lol. Corby brought up there's the fans that will never come back and I think that's pretty much the truth. Bob kept going on and on about how the organization needs to make some type of apology or do something to win the fans over. I don't remember if he had examples or what, but I don't think any of that will matter and honestly would be laughed at. You are 1) over the Luka trade and a MFFL 2) trade pissed you off big time, you have Cooper Flagg now and are starting to not care about Luka trade 3) will probably watch out of boredom 4) never going to watch or care for the mavs again
There is no segment of fan that will change their mind based on some form of apology from the organization. If they did attempt something like that. The #4 fan would react with "HAHA! They really think they will win me back like that?? YA RIGHT!"
Corby is dismissive of anything that doesn't fit into his view. It is one my least favorite aspects of Corby's persona. If it doesn't match his life experience he comes across as if its unfathomable that anyone could think that way.
It's probably true of a many people in general. It is difficult to try and see points of view outside one's own experience. IMO, Corby does it very loudly and with 100% certainty of his correctness. I am also sure that I fall victim to the same failing more often than I would care to admit.
Jake even more so than Corby. At least Corbs still deems the other party as a human and once in a blue moon will admit to being wrong. Jake? Not on your life.
CJ, I suspect you're mostly right, but as someone pretty close to #4, firing Nico and apologizing would bring me back. But I'm only one person. Regardless, I appreciate Bob repping us, and I'm not a Corby hater. I like him most of the time.
KDF: If this forum had existed in this form in the early days of the Ticket, the same might have been said of Greggo and Skip. I'm not sure about Rocco because I was pretty much a P4 during his short stint here. I wonder what the consensis would have been of Big Dick Hunter then?
Gopher: those are good points. I’m sure it was said about Greggo here at the time. One could argue that they were correct on some levels. The station survived but it hasn’t been that same. The HL never recovered, IMO. I know there’s some revisionist history that Mike and Greggo weren’t that good but I will respectfully disagree while acknowledging it might be nostalgia on my part. I don’t feel like Skip was there long enough to be considered irreplaceable. He left very early and had already started to burn his bridges with his takes Landry and Troy. If the industry hold dishonest dealings while on other airways against anyone Skip should have been on the top of the list. Rocco I don’t feel anyone ever really liked. Big Dick Hunter is an interesting one. He was certainly the proto- Mikey. I never got his bit so I never considered him anything but a spare part. I’d be interested to to read the take on him from someone who liked his show.
So you're telling me he who was brought over from Iceland on a slave ship and sold to CAT! who in turn forced him to work part time hours for part time wages but was rescued by the COURAGEOUS duo of WORKING CLASS HEROS and given a LIVING WAGE has sought outside employment - i.e., another source if income to make ends meet? Giggle. lol
It's in the home stretch. End is nigh. Points will be just fine. Always has been, always will be. Limousine Liberal, that one. The Afterthought. . . well, buddy, that's gonna be a rough landing. Best foam the fuck out of the runway and have a team of paramedics at the ready.
Quick hit. Ya know how the real grifter behind The Flop, I mean The Freak was Miami. Now dig on this. The architect of Points's and Afterthought's lil' stunt was none other than Cake. lool
Never forget: They don't care. They never have. And eventually the truth will out.
Still waiting on that smoking gun reddit evidence.
The Wym has been regurgitating the exact same spiel for over 2 years now. The end is nigh, the truth will come out, the boot is about to drop, the podcast is ending next week, Dan will be working in Fairborn in 6 months, nepo baby, soft landing, they won, you lost, they don't care about you,
Points = Jake *hi high school Points for Sex club*
Afterthought = Dan *DZ talk mistly focuses on Jake/seems to be a lot if Jake drama resulting in a less visible Dan*
Cake = TC *his love of cake*
Miami = Sirois *Floridian*
Blake spiel = It's often claimed Blake is earning X amount/banking with TDZ. If so, and it's a genuine career, why seek/engage in outside employment? Could be indicative of trouble at No Puppet.
At least that's my interpretation of one creep's cryptic-ish bullsh.
Gotta have a bit of patience, The Wut. See, thing is, sponsies stop placing adverts if the medium is stagnate. Don't happen overnight. Is now. The Investors are gonzo, as they got their 3-1/2 mins of fame (but not the prize -landmark labor case). Now they only want they $$$ owed for the NC. Basically The Boys (patent pending) are livin' off sponsies and subbies. Latter done stopped growing over a year ago; former is beginning to fall off because of the latter. Dig? Dug. Why you think Blakey Bukkake gone and got him a 2nd gig? Belts b tightening like ladies b trippin'. Hoo boy. Hot time in the old town tonight! Do si do, muthascratchas. lool
The one place I may disagree with KDF is the hardline pre and post Greggo. Started in 94, he flamed out in 2007. Had a 13 year run. But it’s now been 18 years without him. If your the bottom half of the ticket target demo, so 25-45, there’s a real possibility you have zero idea who Greggo is. You’re fine with Corby as a full time host because that’s what you’ve had for 20 years. And I hear you and agree with you that the chemistry was better w hammer. Wolf and snake. Greggo snorted that chance away. You’re going to have a hard time convincing someone that has only listened post Greggo that pre Greggo was better. You can make the argument, just they have zero evidence of that. C
I agree with this. It is like SNL. Your generation determines what cast was the best in your opinion. If you started listening day 1, you probably long for HL 1.0, but if you started listening (like a coworker of mine) literally a few months ago, he likes the HL 5.0 just fine.
I kinda agree with this except I wasnt around for Greggo really. So my hardline is checked out Mike with Danny and then now with Bob and Dave. I think I prefer the actual show now, but I miss a lot of things from Mike. The intro being one of them lol.
1994-2006 Rhyner was absolute greatness. Then along came Petty Theft and that version if Rhyner went out fir a pack of smokes, never to return. Whereabouts still unknown. As the years have rolled by, I've come to the conclusion that up til '05/6 it was a carefully crafted and staged act. Playing the role of the cool guy who suffered no fools, always letting the game come to him, and who chose his words wisely. But man once that mask fell off.... Quite a different person was revealed.
I like TSS for the same reason cited previously. They are going to talk about baseball. I'm so beaten down by Cowboys talk that it has become mostly a punch out. I don't care about watching the Netflix PR and I damn sure don't want to hear some radio talk about it. The one good segment was TSS examining the voice change of Michael.
I don't listen to TDZ because they only have two topics, the NFL and the NBA. If that was a wider examining of the league then it might be palatable, but it's 99% Cows and Mavs. I'm one of the never again Mavs fans. They are dead to me now. I can't get more apathetic about the Cowboys. I don't hate them, I just don't care. That means that I don't listen that much these days. If it's something else I'm much more likely to stick around. Does that put me in the minority? Whatever. Don't care.
That's what we're here for right? To share thoughts and opinions? I cared so much about the ending of the game on Thursday that I fell asleep. I cared so much last year that I watched the RedZone instead of the game. Avoiding segments dedicated to Cowboy talk means I care? Whatever
Can we stop to acknowledge the fantastically insane MidLife our boy Dan is going through. Still hosting randos to your actual home. Your barely keeping it together partner Jake blazing up on a Thurs night, in your driveway, as your wife can only muster a "hey, you remind me of when i was in my 20s dating that pothead who's now my husband. ha." Intervention. Intervention. Intervention.
2 other things I’m convinced of. There’s no other station in this town that’s ever been as successfully sustained as the ticket. They’re working on 32 years. Other stations have had great runs, KVIL with Chapman , Kidd era KISS, but none of those have lasted 32 years. And in 32 years you’re going to have some ups and downs. Maybe this is a down year. But TT has managed to drive through the triple whammy of Rhyner leaving, Norm retiring and THZ quitting in the space of a few years. They’re down periods are still better then the Fans best times. Side note- I’ve got a theory about THZ vs TSS , I need to look up some numbers to test my hypothesis, look for that in the near future, C
Wouldn't doubt it for a second. Funny thing, they all keep getting their ass handed to them by one jackass in particular and a few others who chime in.

Deleteside / list
DeleteDon't forget to add, Dap, about bullying 'em into an opinion, lie to you die about a situation or person(s) until mass hysteria ensues.
DeleteYo, Wim, you first.
DeleteI don't think I've listened to 5 segments total since they've been on
DeleteThen stop pestering others. You do this every few months, Sam.

ReplyDeleteI"m in the camp that thinks TSS is fine too. I have made comments and gotten the same reactions as well of "Fine???? That's quite the compliment!!!" Ya, i'm not saying it's the greatest show ever, but I don't lose any sleep over it. TSS is fine to me, I actually did not like THZ so there's that.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just that they hate it and can't understand the appeal of a less than 2 hour midday show they don't actively have to listen to.
Deleteless than 2 hour midday show... love it!
Deletehow about could not carry a 3 hour midday show???
which way to the asthma field???
How about they're going to be employed for a while and it's great that it annoys you. Maybe start another outrage thread on Reddit about how much it angers you that a spare midday show replaced your favorites who chose to leave the station. Oh they could've gotten someone else. You would've hated them too.
DeleteThe asthma field is Reddit because it's full of tired whining.
HSO (hi, Sam), they won. Move on. You're not good at this.
DeleteI maybe missed two segments a week in the Bad Radio days... Now, I (literally, wink) never listen to 10-3... And what I've learned is that my non-participation has had zero effect on the ratings...
DeleteThe people on Reddit sub need to remember that the opposite of love isn't hate - it's indifference.
I just hope everyone does well and finds success and happiness in their careers and life.

DeleteShe went to a party last Saturday night, but didn't get laid
DeleteLatest CdS is something else. Those dudes are pathetic. Siroises have always been opportunistic grifters with an insatiable thirst for attention and fame. Danny, on the other hand. . . I contend that at some point he will wake up from this gutter ball stupor and think, "What have I done? Who have I become?"
ReplyDeleteSaw it.
DeleteThat episode was literally from 3 weeks ago
DeleteNo it wasn't. Another liar.
DeleteThing that has become slightly tedious lately on the Ticket:
ReplyDeleteSensible comments by a host (for example, Bob or George) that outrage culture is out of control, that the worst voices on the Internet are being amplified in wild disproportion to their importance, etc...
Here comes O-deck/ Enews where Gordon and Davey read mean tweets from these same people... Usually from right of center people, cuz, you know...

DeleteThis afternoon shows why the Ticket is still great to listen to. The Hardline have done a great job.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteAgreed, It was the most I've listened to the HL in a long time. They are really good when given a focused topic .
DeleteSpeaking of the Hardline, have we had disinterested Corby of late? I admit to having a small sample size but it seems like most of what I've heard from him lately has been what trip he went on recently or what movie he saw with his kids. I don't think we've had a visit from the College Football Blowhard segment at all so far. I realize personal stories have always been part of the ticket host repitoire and maybe I'm only hearing those segments but Bob made a comment in passing about the Blowhard being too busy on trips. It was all good natured but it did make me think that I can't remember Corby doing much lately that required any effort on his part.
DeleteI'll let you in on a secret: If it doesn't relate in some way to OU, Corby doesn't know anything about college football

DeleteA lot of people seem to think Dan and Jake were fired. They weren’t. They were offered new contracts. The two of them turned it down. They could have still been on the Ticket. It was their choice. They are not victims.
ReplyDeleteYes and Micah should have just taken an offer to play for $20MM/year
DeleteHere’s the deal
DeleteDan and Jake: Bad people
Cat and Killer: Good people
Everyone else who left: talentless losers
Everyone still at the Ticket: winners
They hosted a three-hour, midday show. They were paid accordingly. They wanted more money. They were told it wasn’t going to happen. They walked. They weren’t Micah Parsons.
DeleteCumulus tried to change the language in their contracts that they’d been working under for years. Didn’t think they’d notice. They also forced minimum wage workers to sign non-competes in order to get a raise.
DeleteAre you taking Jake and TCs word of that? Haha what a joke. Cat treated the part time and low tier workers fairly. Be an adult! Jake is a liar.
Deletelol, good bit

DeleteTDZ is not going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteSeeing how you replied to an obvious troll, and spent all those bytes and time doing so, I'd look in the mirror.
DeleteCat knows talent. Cat won. lol
DeleteIt is not 90% of this forum but one person who gets 90% of your attention
Delete😉
DeleteYou truly, truly have no idea what virtue signaling means.
DeleteI bet Cat wishes he had even 1/32nd of the power you weirdly invested hive members think he has.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on one shred of evidence vis-a-vis Cat, Peter, and reddit to be presented.

DeleteHey guys. Sorry about that comment. Clearly I have self esteem issues and a serious problem with that old green eyed monster. My promise to you all is to do my darnedest to be better. I also ask you to hold me accountable for any petty, pathetic comment I foist upon you.
DeleteHumbled. Truly.
Can't wait until Ryan Baldwin and Will Connerly are hosting morning drive next year.
ReplyDeleteCat knows talent!
Ding
DeleteHow long did it take you to come up with that one? But you're correct. Cat knows talent. And he knows you don't have it. Ouchie.
DeleteHi, Ragonkowski. Thirsty child, this one.
DeleteThere’s a very good reason that Baldwin and Connelly won’t be hosting AM drive anytime soon. And why Work in Progress won’t either.
DeleteExperience.
But here’s an interesting thought exercise:
C
It's trolling, C. Poorly so, but that us what it is attempting to do.
DeleteBob has said if he’s still hosting at 60 something has gone horribly wrong
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteIt would not surprise me at all if the Hardline departs before the Musers.
DeleteSee, Hive Fucks, THIS is how you in a genteel fashion BOTH praise AND criticize something that truly holds high valued stock in your proverbial pprtfolio.
DeleteBob has said if he's still hosting at 60, something has gone wrong? What on earth will Bob be doing when he's 60?? Dude wants to be heard lol.
DeleteSlow day at the office for me so I've been pondering C's question.
DeleteIs the Ticket even the Ticket with none of the originals in place? Corby, Bob and Donnie have all been there a long time and all are good at what they do. I'd put Bob against anyone for straight sports talk but without whatever magic powers the Musketeers of the Ticket had how long does the Ticket last without any of them? My guess is not long, at least not in a way any of use long term P1s would recognize. I would think it will become a much more generic station without any of the original people. Maybe that's just the power of nostalgia but I think the train really does come to an end with the Musers exit. That's not to say the station may not continue to be a success but I don't think it is the Ticket anymore after that.
So great to have TC sitting in for Blake on the DZ today

DeleteI have to give Baldy some credit for his 8:40 bit on Wednesday. The songs were fairly humorous. It was one of the better fill in bits I've heard.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be kidding. That was completely low-effort AI slop that took 10 seconds to produce
DeleteNo not kidding.
DeleteI'm grateful that Bob checks Corby on Corby's take on Mavs fans, specifically those of us who are Never Nicos. I don't appreciate Corby's dismissiveness of us, and I like that Bob represents our part of the (former?) fan base. Now, if only he would shorten his questions....
ReplyDeleteI think Corby is right on this honestly.
DeleteThere is no segment of fan that will change their mind based on some form of apology from the organization.
DeleteFunny. That sounds like a lot of Confessors and redditors.
DeleteIt's probably true of a many people in general. It is difficult to try and see points of view outside one's own experience. IMO, Corby does it very loudly and with 100% certainty of his correctness. I am also sure that I fall victim to the same failing more often than I would care to admit.
DeleteJake even more so than Corby. At least Corbs still deems the other party as a human and once in a blue moon will admit to being wrong. Jake? Not on your life.
DeletePerfection
DeleteCJ, I suspect you're mostly right, but as someone pretty close to #4, firing Nico and apologizing would bring me back. But I'm only one person. Regardless, I appreciate Bob repping us, and I'm not a Corby hater. I like him most of the time.

DeleteKDF: If this forum had existed in this form in the early days of the Ticket, the same might have been said of Greggo and Skip. I'm not sure about Rocco because I was pretty much a P4 during his short stint here.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the consensis would have been of Big Dick Hunter then?

ReplyDeleteAnd I hear you and agree with you that the chemistry was better w hammer.
DeleteFlawless
DeleteI kinda agree with this except I wasnt around for Greggo really. So my hardline is checked out Mike with Danny and then now with Bob and Dave. I think I prefer the actual show now, but I miss a lot of things from Mike. The intro being one of them lol.
ReplyDelete1994-2006 Rhyner was absolute greatness.
DeleteI like TSS for the same reason cited previously. They are going to talk about baseball. I'm so beaten down by Cowboys talk that it has become mostly a punch out. I don't care about watching the Netflix PR and I damn sure don't want to hear some radio talk about it. The one good segment was TSS examining the voice change of Michael.
ReplyDeleteI don't listen to TDZ because they only have two topics, the NFL and the NBA. Whatever. Don't care.
Then why express your opinion. Like Irving, I think you too care. A lot.
DeleteThat's what we're here for right? To share thoughts and opinions? I cared so much about the ending of the game on Thursday that I fell asleep. I cared so much last year that I watched the RedZone instead of the game. Avoiding segments dedicated to Cowboy talk means I care?
ReplyDeleteWhatever
You care. Evidently about a lot of things.
DeleteCan we stop to acknowledge the fantastically insane MidLife our boy Dan is going through.
ReplyDeleteStill hosting randos to your actual home. Your barely keeping it together partner Jake blazing up on a Thurs night, in your driveway, as your wife can only muster a "hey, you remind me of when i was in my 20s dating that pothead who's now my husband. ha."
Intervention. Intervention. Intervention.
It's now visible on the horizon. Sad to say. From the jump erratic behavior from both. It's only getting worse. And for what?
Delete2 other things I’m convinced of. There’s no other station in this town that’s ever been as successfully sustained as the ticket. They’re working on 32 years. Other stations have had great runs, KVIL with Chapman , Kidd era KISS, but none of those have lasted 32 years. And in 32 years you’re going to have some ups and downs.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is a down year. But TT has managed to drive through the triple whammy of Rhyner leaving, Norm retiring and THZ quitting in the space of a few years. They’re down periods are still better then the Fans best times.
Side note- I’ve got a theory about THZ vs TSS , I need to look up some numbers to test my hypothesis, look for that in the near future,
