Check it out.

Hey, Country Force, can you fix my chain?

  1. Gimme CF over M+M anytime.

  2. The M+M Ante-Pre-Pre-Game show is pretty good. Seems looser than their Saturday show, for some reason. I like the way Mike handles interviews, like the way they handle interviews generally. If you have to have 5 hours of Cowboys pre-game, the way The Ticket handles it is pretty OK. Credit The Western Hemispherical Catman for stuff like this.

  3. I have to confess my infidelity; yes, I at times have an affair with 105.3. This is usually only limited to Cowboys pre- and post-game shows. I haven't listed to 1310/96.7 pre- and post-game shows in about two years.

However, for me, there is a lot more content on 105.3. Like right now, I am listening to Mickey S's opinions. I also enjoy the insights when they go to the opposing team's radio show, Inside the Owners Box, other stuff by Kristi Scales, etc. And I really like Jesse Holley. I would put Jesse's HSO's over Sturm's HSO's when it comes to the Cowboys any day.

Just think the 105.3 pre- and post-game has more content.

Now I will go light a candle and beg forgiveness for my sins.

  4. Are we all preparing for stories of how Corby ended up crashing in Keith Richard's bus?

"Mickey...have the Cowboys ever done anything wrong? In your opinion."

  6. I can see how a more homer driven pre and post would be desired by some. I prefer to not hear guys with their Cowboy pennants out every second. Now, granted I have never listened to the Fan's pre/post so I can't know for sure.

  7. Bob and Dan tried to buy the van used in the movie Dumb and Dumber a few years ago. They missed a chance on this little gem too.

  8. very refreshing to hear someone that has mastered the English language deliver tickets from 10-3. Would be nice if this was the norm.

  9. I know this is a ticket blog, but does anyone else hate Steve Dennis as much as I do? He's nails on a chalk board.

  10. While I admit gordon has become a dumber, sports radio version of Chris Cuomo as of late, that Jerry Jr. talking in the back of Fake Jerry's Monday call-in is damn hell funny. I can't help but imagine a toddler with a diaper, a security blanket and Jerry's head.

Pretty sure you meant "tickers" and not "tickets".

  12. Fun with NFL Mascots my have been the most boring, useless, ridiculous segments the Musers have done in years.

  13. @1:03

But they can only do that segment once. Picking games with a P1 happens every week.

  14. At the risk of talking politics (I'm really not), when discussing the upcoming stadium election, is anyone besides me getting tired of Danny and Corby talking as if all people who lives in DFW live in the city of Dallas? Quotes like "I don't like driving all the way over to Arlington" comes across like nails on a chalkboard. Statements like that fail to take into account that if the Rangers were to play in Dallas, then a lot of people would have to drive "all the way over to Dallas". This would be true no matter where the Rangers end up playing.

Something about the tone of those statements comes across as "I am the center of the universe", which is fine, I guess, when it's coming from a toddler. From men the age of Corby and Danny: no so much.

Disclaimer: Yes, I am aware that Corby grew up in Arlington, and I am aware that Dallas is the most-populated city in our metro area. If you think that's a good point to make, then you missed mine.

  15. @ James

Corby and Danny are well known for not caring about what goes on outside of the I-35W/I-30/635/Tollway corridor. I'm not sure Danny knows anything beyond the way from Elm and Good Latimer to the studio. It obvious that they only pay attention when they get paid $1,000s to go to a remote and bitch about the locals and the traffic. We do get lots of Corby travel talk so at least he's familiar with how to get to DFW.

  16. Nothing wrong with Steppenwolf, even it Corby doesn't like "Get Your Motor Runnin"

  17. Got free tickets to the Cattle Baron's ball where Toby Keith was headlining. Wondered where Corbles was. By the way, I thought Toby was pretty generic. Dwight Yoakam though - that dude was great.

Considering Danny lives in east Dallas, is a regular at a certain watering hole located at Skillman and Live Oak, and so much more along those lines, your comment is bunk. "Love it" when you people think you have insight on these guys' personal lives.

  19. Keeping a good thought for Bob and his battle with hydrocolpos.

  20. Why does Brian Jones keep talking about pounding me? What did I ever do to him?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Listen to Corby going off on the NY Giants for not cutting Josh Brown over a domestic violence charge.

    Uh, Joe Mixon?

  22. The Switzer lickfest is ON!

  23. I thought the Switzer interview was great. He always brings something. Although I can do without Corbles letting us know that he'll meet up with him in a couple of weeks. I don't know that Strangis that great a fill-in. Too strident. Why not just have the Mighty Machine fill in?

  24. Full disclosure: I was a student at UT during the Royal/Switzer era so I tend to believe he's the devil as well as a crook who stayed one step ahead of the NCAA. I thought I had found a friendly port with the Hardline, as Mike and Greg shared my feelings about him. So I was a little disappointed when they suddenly decided he was a GREAT GUY! No surprise, I find Corby's love affair with Switzer to be nauseating and, for my money, somewhat unprofessional on Corby's part.

I enjoyed listening to Ralph today. He's pretty open about his personal life, which includes substance abuse and a divorce. He tried to sugarcoat his relationship with Razor, but I have a nagging feeling that he (Ralph) is not the easiest person to get along with.

  25. Ralph was excellent, but, as 530 said, he might've been putting lipstick on a pig where his and Razor's relationship is concerned. From everything I've ever heard (from a couple of fellas who are associated with the Stars technical team), their chemistry as forced to say the least. That basically they had little to nothing to do with each other before and after the call. Two VERY different people. And like 530 said, the word I heard was that everyone loves Ralph but can't take him after awhile. High maintenance. One of those it's always something kinda guys. Razor is the total opposite. He's a dude's dude, likes to have a good time, is all about hockey, golf, beers with the boys, and if a tit bar is involved all the better. But to reiterate, from what I've been told for years now, Ralph is a pain but everyone thinks the world of him. I know one thing for sure, if he were a Ticket host, I'd listen everyday to him. He's honest and blunt and full of HSOs. One more thing. I miss Dave Lane. Love me some Ticket Glutton. Good to hear you today, Prince Valiant.

  26. I grew up with Ralphie and Razor. They were all I've ever known of a hockey broadcast since 93 when I was finishing up high school and figured out what hockey was. I've heard lots of scuttlebutt about the forced chemistry between the two but doesn't that lends more credence to both as professional broadcasters. Kudos to them

I was shocked at how seamlessly Dave walked in a took over. That guy was nails too. Sorry to see him going through what he is and how to have him back soon.

In the mean time, I had my doubts about Luddy filling in on color. I've been under-impressed with him on pre and postgame. Just thought he was an ultimate power drain.

While I don't think they compete with Dave/Razor, Razor/Luddy have some good chemistry which will certainly continue to grow. Well done gents.

Now can we we work on that blue line defense?
