A home for those who love almost everything about The Ticket (1310 AM, 96.7 FM, Dallas-Fort Worth), and who would like to discuss -- respectfully and fondly -- their thoughts on how (and whether) to eliminate the "almost."
Perhaps other than you, very few. People move on. CdS had its place and time, abd that was many years ago now. Sorry, Chael (it is you-old habits die hard-the handle gave you away).
Will CdS come in the form of 'sodes? Live? Please tell me it'll be 'sodes. Dying for 'sodes. Any 'sode of any stripe. Ya know, The Boys put out 'sodes. 'Sodes are the bombdiggity. Will CdS have remotes for sale that we Siroggulos can purchase? I'd happily pay $1,310,971.69 to have y'all at my effeciency for a 'sode. I make killer 'chos. Nuke some Kraft American and Doritos. Bombdiggity grubbin'.
Wasn't really a fan of Sirois while at TT or when paired with Rhyner. But when he partnered with Danny, he found his stride and I for one was digging it. Good to see you back on MTC, RagonkForce.
I see that I'm no longer alone in The Void. A fellow traveler, you, Scruff Duff. And isn't that the rub, eh old chum?
It's all akin to the aging, local band. Their Halcyon Days long behind them. The gravity that used to hold them down, just don't exist no more. Neither does the rocket ride. But the poor souls won't, can't -really- move on. So they shuffle the deck and form new bands with like-situated musicians. The excitement! The youthful excitement! This time will be different! What, with our experience, our connexions, and The So and So's and The WhatziNots want to put shows together at the venue where lower mid-tier touring acts play. Plus. Our last 'gram pic garnered 69 likes. They're clamoring for us!
Four months later. . . .
Reality hits.
See, thing is, this band. These musicians. They were good. Good but not great. Tight, but wholly derivative. A solid opener, not a headliner. Living Room Gods of Rock. "But darling, you're just magic on stage." She means well, but the damage these kind words inflict is irreparable. And so, the vicious circle continues to be transversed.
One more job ought to get it. One last shot before we quit it. One more for the road.
Yet the road goes on forever and the party never ends. Except it does. It dead ends.
Thank you, Scruff Duff, for salvaging me from this shipwreck that we call our lives.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill. I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose freewill. And I'd also like to know the value of this Topps Josh "Raw Dawg" Hamilton rookie card.
I checked out various AND sundry pods from the DFW version of All City. First impression: Jeff Cavanaugh is working his ass off and appears to be willing to do whatever it takes to make this work. Hats off to him. Too bad the entirety of his fellow former Freakers didn't/don't share his work ethic. Frankly, the best stuff was Stars related. Owen Newkirk, Sean Shapiro, and Craig Ludwig really have something, if you're a Stars fan, that is. It was nice to hear analysis of the org by those who aren't on the org's direct payroll. Let's just say that it's a different take than you'll hear on TT Stars pre/btwn periods/postgames shows, Razor on The Musers, and the Bally/Stars pre/btwn period/postgame shows. Not sure if Owen will be on TT Stars pre/post this season. He might've addressed it, but I didn't catch it if he did. Overall it's very, almost exclusively, sports centric. I think that I'll sub for a month or so and check out the more indepth, sub only content.
Basically, if you're looking for sports heavy, sorta a DFW version of NESN, All City might be your jam. Having said that, I'm curious to see how/if TDZ and the supposed influx of Ticket/Freak ex-pats mixes in with the sportsy vibe.
I think you're onto something here. Any return of Sirois will be less than triumphant. My lasting memory of him is totally drunk on Gordon's "twitch show".
Does anyone know what's going on with uSave.it? None of the shows are playing from the app, and when I try and log in to the website it says that I don't have permission to access this resource. Is anyone else having issues?
Not TT related. I was on the road early this morning and I find the Fox National Radio stuff on the Ticket unlistenable so I was on 1080 to get some news. Good Lord, they have really long commercial breaks and very little content. Even the top of the hour news seemed to be a short segment followed by a long break and then a segment of traffic and weather and another long commercial break. I don't recall it being that way before.
1080 has undergone changes. All are of the bad decision coach nature. Well on their way to being KSKY. I lean a bit to the right if center and even I think KSKY is trash. Sadly, 1080 is heading that way fast.
Moving away from their news coverage and adding another conservative talker in the PM is another strange decision. They are almost a clone of WBAP now. Between news, weather, and traffic the host get about a 7-12 minute segment and it starts up again. I miss the days of Brad Sham's Sports Central and The Cowboy Hour.
I know I would not have listened to the ticket for the last 10 years if not for the Sports Day app. I had the rare occasion to be in the car for multiple hours last week and did not have access to skipping commercials and segments I didn’t want to listen to for one reason or another. There is so little content in an hour. If that was a daily occurrence I know I could not do it. How do people do it daily without the app ?
Out of demo- the key is TSL, time spent listening. Last time I looked the average TSL of a ticket listener was in the 5-6 hour range. That’s per week, not per day. If you figure that most people listen weekdays, and most listen in their cars, you have people listening on their drive in, again on their drive home, and maybe the station is getting some midday listening from the odd shifts that aren’t 9-5. Very few listeners are listening for 8 hours a day. In fact you know why KRLD does traffic and weather together on the 8’s? Because their TSL is so low that people flip over, hear A (as in one) traffic report and they’re on to a different station C
Thanks for sharing, Wut. I mean, at what point do folks stop screaming about 10-3? OK, 1-3 is tied with The FAN at 11th in the market. There's nothing wrong with that, at all. Sounding like a broken record, I know, but it tracks historically with both BaD and THZ. Someone is listening. Actually, more than "someone." A lot of someones. I do think both shows can improve, especially 1-3, but neither are anywhere close to the disaster they're made out to be via the sosh. As to DnM and THL, they keep on keepin' on in steamroller like fashion.
Yeah, I think it’s become pretty obvious Cumulus wants to go cheap 10-3 and stay strong where it matters.
I don’t enjoy a ton of 10-3. I think Donnie has been done wrong and deserves better. Matt is fine…the definition of OK. But when when Donnie was with Rich Philips it was more entertaining and compelling.
Sean and Mino. Good dudes. Sean is a lifer. Has been given his shot. Both are on 2 year deals from what they have said to P1s in the wild. Mino is coming along, but I just don’t think the pairing works well, for me at least. I think the OG WIP is best fitted for that spot. They had years do develop on weekends.
But that doesn’t matter. Cumulus wants them serviceable and cheap. And The Sweet Spot is serviceable and cheap.
I still can’t listen to D-Bag nation. Background noise it is.
I think Middays is much better at this time of the year, they have way more sportsy stuff to talk about. The SS is still the week link for me but I enjoy both shows more this time of the year.
Holy smokes! Checked out the comments under the ratings and are Ticket redditors the dumbest fucks ever or what? If you tell me they're all 18 U then I'll give them a pass. Other than that we're talking world class moron stuff. Unfuckingreal.
Sorry, cuz. Dat ain't da trooth. Ya best looka into dem numbers. Ya Boys. We e e ell let's jes say yo memberberries be trippin' n trickin' yo ass. Da cope is real fer real. Da cope is strawng wit ya, dawg.
I saw on one of the local radio groups that TT is the number one billing station in Dallas and all of the Cumulus stations. As long as they are still selling ads I really don't expect much to change.
Wow. A real banger. Uh, meh. As gasbaggy and all over the road as it was, the Surrealist Creep Troll was onto something with its aging local band analogy when it comes to this bunch.
So TDZ is already making half what they did at TT, and now they’re going to add more salary to the budget? I like Danny, but he couldn’t draw much of an audience on free radio, how many people who aren’t already DZ subscribers are going to sub because Danny is now on board? C
Dobbs, a veteran of multiple local radio stations and roles in local sports television, is bullish on the prospects of one medium while decidedly less so when it comes to another.
“Digital media and podcasting is just picking up steam,” Dobbs says. “But we’ve seen traditional radio has been dwindling for a while now for various reasons. People are tired of long commercial breaks and it not being an on-demand type of thing. Most stations are run by giant corporations with competing priorities and interests. At The Freak, we had a vision for what we wanted there that made a lot of sense to us, but that didn’t align with the people who were paying our salaries.”
She needs Sante Center. All that wine and the edibles have taken a toll. Ate we really gonna go through this song and dance again? Sorry, honey, you sucked. By your own admission, 3 weeks into TF you ran out of ideas for your own named segment. This shit, these people are delusional.
I hope 'infectious laugh' and 'breath of fresh air' and being nice gets subscriptions. Because I've never heard any of other defense of her when someone mentions she's not interesting or entertaining.
Might've worded it a tad, and do mean a tad a bit differently; but in the main, the above comment succinctly puts this latest development into proper perspective.
Man, the freq (or freak) just wasn’t supported. The problem wasn’t their ideas But the fact this collection of veteran broadcasters were left to their own devices & basically weren’t managed.
The problem with the freq/freak is they could say what they wanted, but in the end, nobody had anything to say.
I don’t see how any of that changes in podcast form.
Julie is on The Mom Game, busy being a mother, a wife, and has irons in several fires that are not media related.
Danny is once again haunting the saloons of East Dallas, keeping a closer eye on his bar in Deep Ellum, working out the kinks of his latest band, and is endeavoring in writing/producing music for ad spots.
Rhyner is finally (for real), officially retired. No more pods. He and his former Ticket bunkermates have kissed and made up. As a result, Rhyner makes occasional guest appearances on The Ticket.
Sirois is no longer in the area. He is back living in Florida, still pursuing celebrityhood.
Jake is running his parent's/family business, enjoying fatherhood, and in a real sense glad to be out of the game.
Dan is tapping every source, every contact he has seeking an am/pm drive position in a major to 2nd tier market. The manse in Southlake is on the market. Every now and again he bolts straight up in bed, sweating, thinking it was all a dream; no one pisses away --specially in such a flippant, rudderless manner-- the job of a lifetime, no way. And certainly not him. What, with all those dues paid and growing up the way he did. Nope. Nothing doing. That the alarm won't go off until 10am; because, you know, he doesn't have to be at the station until 11:30 for the show premeeting. Good old dirty noon to three.
Dan is in a different --and from a different-- place than the rest.
Julie comes from an on high socio-economic background; as does her husband. Media is a career path, not her life, not in her blood. Her work on both The Mom Game and TF evince this.
Danny is a musician. He got into TT, into media by way of being an OG regular caller and (mostly by) sending in songs. We are who we are and no matter how far afield we stray, in the end we always return home.
Rhyner took the trip around the world and did it his way. He was a pathbreaker, even if it was more luck than not; even if it had more to do with others than him. Rhyner has his money, his HoF plaque, and his place in local media history.
Jake's upper middle class background and backing (both his family and wife/wife's famly) affords him the luxury to pursue his interests. Like Julie, he has a safety net.
Dan, again, is different. He has no safety net. He is a media lifer. He was "livin' the dream," but got caught up in something that spun out of control, forcing him to make unwise decisions. If you listen carefully to TDZ, regret is a common theme for Dan. When the inevitable happens and the music stops, everyone above will have found a seat. Dan will not. Dan is smart enough to have already realized this ineluctable fate. It's nothing personal against Dan. Not in the least. It's called "the way it is."
This time next year the Dumb Zone will be no more. Jake, Dan and Blake will be jobless and desperate. Dan will have to take a job working at Bass Pro Shop and Jake will be selling knives door to door. Julie will be unemployed as well as Danny. Mike Sirois will be seen turning tricks on Harry Hines to pay for his party life style. Rhyner will beg Cat for a position and will get a Sunday night show with Greggo for two hours.
As for The Ticket they will re up The Musers and Bob Sturm for life long contracts. We will get rid of the Midday shows and sequester Sean Bass to Diamond Talk only and Mino will be on the street as well. In place of 10-3 we will have what everyone has wanted here at MTC. The Jeff Catlin show! Five hours of Jeff Catlin spitting his genius for everyone to hear. Finally some good radio for a change!
Pretty much everyone who leaves the ticket will fail and the select few we like on the station will succeed. Oh and Cat is a genius.
Whoa where is this coming from? I’m just giving my loyalty to Jeff Catlin. He’s our guy and we support him thoroughly. I’m a 58 year old man (the target demo of this page I might add) and I have touched many a grass thank you very much! I don’t even know what a podcast is! I just wish it was the good old days again.
Gonna have to better, lil buddy. We have higher standards around here. You troll, you go hard. Now take this weak shit back to yo basement bedroom at yo momma's house.
What do you do exactly? Have you ever tried to go off and start something on your own or do you just sit and wait for the boss to tell you that you did a good job and here’s a lolypop. Hmmm. I just want everyone to do well that’s all I am saying.
Stop it. TC loathes this sute. TC is has convictions. TC wouldn't deign to type in this URL, much less leave a comment. Go back to the drawing board, turbo.
DFW can't get enough of The Mom Game as evidenced by their meteoric rise and hordes of fans that you literally see all over the area.
The easiest thing to do now a days is to start a podcast network, post a video on You Tube, bam, we launched! Farewell washed up media or whatever that thing was called.
When did this fake pseudo intellection writing style become so ubiquitous on this site? Why not just talk like a normal humanoid and say stuff like: "Musers and HL doing real well" "Dan and Jake pod is enjoying mild success and they seem to be struggling in efforts to scale up to something bigger". Instead we get garbled flowery writing styles likely generated by an early version of a LLM.
It was said in one of the earlier posts that Dan has his house for sale. That is not correct. It wasn't hard to search the listings and see the house is not currently for sale nor has it been for sale since Dan bought in 2009. Do better.
is this your ass ess ment or a quote? if the former, you are astute. if the latter, they offer their services at $6.9. they also, and especially, the mastered one, are almost always *exclusively* wrong in their opinions on everything from sports (a supposedley expertise) and politics and well, everything.
Does it sound to anyone else like Junior is broadcasting from somewhere else? Several times in the past week it has sounded like there’s a slight delay and he doesn’t sound like he’s in the studio with the other two.
It does sound like Junior is either in his garage studio in Dallas or his home away from home in the mountains. As for our DZ boys whether you like it or not the revenue streams are starting to add up. Lots of advertising, sponsors, and now a TV show albeit minor that is another revenue stream. There is a world where the Ticket continues to have success and the DZ boys enjoy decent financial success coupled with creative freedom to run their own business. The false binary narrative is maddening. I wish success to The Ticket and to Dan and Jake and the entire team of No Puppet Productions.
The DZ "Boys" by their own admission are making less than half of their former salaries, with none of the benefits. And now they have a "tv show" on ch 27. You know, like the old Ticket TV back in the day. This "empire" is full on Atlantis within a year. Unsustainable.
No one said that. Stop lying. They saud let's see where things stand in a year, which is markedly different. Liars lying, go figure. They don't see this. Do you understand that?
The problem with anyone predicting success or failure for TDZ, is that most of it is subjective. If TDZ is still doing a podcast in 3 years with about the same amount of subscribers, is that a failure or success? Some would argue it both ways. Since podcasts can post a new episode as rare as once a month and still be considered a podcast, TDZ simply having a podcast won't really determine if they succeed or fail. My guess is that depending which way you want to spin it, TDZ will always be a success or failure.
What happened to the big return of CdS? Still coming down? Checked out DZ TV. It's a clip show. Public access cable stuff. Looks like bought airtime. Which is fine. TT did that earlyish on. Had their own show/infomercial. That's what this seems to be. Not sure how much good it'll do for them, but hey, why not try. I'm not into predicting shit, but I do think TDZ pod will be going for quite a few years. Might not be a fulltime thing by sometime next year or the year after. Like IJB, I can see it going on and on, just in a more informal way. Also don't view TDZ or this new All City thing as competition for TT. Ms. Dobbs might be correct one day fairly far down the road, but for now she's putting the cart in front of the horse. There is room for all of it. On that point I concur. But to equate either TDZ or AC with TT is kinda silly. Neither is taking a thing away from TT. At least not anytime soon. Different animals.
Y'all quit shitting on each other. It's fucking gross. Love this place. Let's play a clean game.
The Dumb Zone, Mike Rhyner, Sirois, Julie, Danny, TC, Ty, Jer and everyone who left in the last four years (that actually had some worth or talent) are traitors to me. They harmed the Ticket and for that I hope they all fail and I think they will. Most people that have left the station or have been fired have been massive failures.
Loyal to a corporation. Sad! Anyone should be able to leave any job they hold if they feel like it betters them. I’m sure you have done the same thing.
Either CTM and Hector is the same person, ginning up faux discord, or CTM is trolling and Hector is dingdong, or both are serious and therefore both are dingdongs.
Company loyally of that nature is a mistake. People have a right to try and improve their career. We can think DnJ made a mistake or the freq was misguided, but you can’t fault anyone that wasn’t a Tier 1 host for taking a host gig.
You may not believe they have the chops, but that doesn’t mean they don’t believe in themselves.
That food is bad. This art is good. That is, no shit Sherlock. No one has seriously claimed the opposite. Here's the key, and I guess it must be stated yet sgain for the class: It isn't what they did. Rather, it's how they did it. Namely, bullsh narratives, flat out lying, and self-aggrandizement--at times taking on an almost martyr like hue. No one, other than a moron or a troll (tautology) would begrudge anyone "betting on themself," striking out on their owb. Specially when their is no more room at the inn.
What a bunch of first semester of business school word salad. But hey, whatever. You gotta sell your product and yourself these days. I don't hold it against any of them that they left The Ticket and took their talents elsewhere. For whatever reason. It's their lives and they can do what they want. I also have no idea or care one bit if Dan and Jake think they made a mistake or what they or any of them will be doing next year. Being real about it, I wish none of them would've left The Ticket. I wish things were the way the were 2 years and change ago. But I get why some left. When The Freak formed, I hoped it was gonna be a winner. Would've been cool to hear those voices and have some cool listening options. Same with The Dumb Zone. Thing is, The Freak was flat out crappy and I ditched my Dumb Zone subbie back in July. It's OK, but not really worth my time or money. If you dig it, cool by me. Just not my jam. Upshot is, I've no beef with any of it. But one thing I don't get, and I'm seeing again in this interview. The shade thrown at their previous stops. Let it go. Move on and do your thing. It comes off as bush league amateur hour.
I'm in agreement with everything you said, Rick. The only thing I would add is the way in which they took their talents elsewhere, and the way in which they conducted and still conduct themselves vis-a-vis their old stomping grounds (now including iHeart), is embarrassing, puerile. The outright lies told by all ex-Ticket Freakers were egregious. Not as bad but still headshakingly opaque was the martyr's pose Dan and Jake adopted. But, yes, I concur, they have the right to do their own thing and it should be allowed to stand or fall on its own merit -- and done so without constantly being doomcasted.
First, it was Cumulus' fault. Then iHeart's fault. Now, it's "large media companies shov(ing) out of market content down (the listeners') throats" - they're paying her for this? (exactly what out-of-market content is she whining about, btw?)
There are so many fundamental, 101, business mistakes being made with this venture I stopped counting back at "Let's put this on video".
The whole "old employer was so controlling" thing is just a dumb way to go about it to listeners, in my opinion. Dan ate his lunch while on air, they went to training camp in California every year, the Super Bowl, and while may were told to talk Cowboys a decent amount, were not micromanaged on content. I don't know all the behind the scenes and dialogue from ticket meetings, but as listeners, it's not some pity party. They had gigs that a lot of us would probably like to have (at least we think so lol). Acting like they were employed by tyrants is not exactly the best idea. Maybe just me.
I actually do hold it against them. As another commenter pointed out, they had it made. They shit the bed. Jake is roughly my age, and wanted a job at the chicken more than anything. I suppose he didn’t like how the sausage is made. Even so—and everybody still employed there says it—there’s nothing quite like being a host at the station.
An aside : as a tenured professor of American lit, many of you should read more Carver and less Dave Wallace / Ishmael Reed. Maximalism is great. If you’re great. Ugly when you ain’t.
Pretty harsh. Dingu and the rest of his Freak cohorts all got nice buyouts/comp packages. Plus he has ownership in a successful bar, and who knows what he earns of music. I don't think any of them except Jake, Blake, and Dan are podcasting for a living at this point. The $ isn't there yet. Sometimes people do things just because they enjoy them.
So, who are you? How do you know what Danny makes working for No Puppet? I can guarantee you it's less than what he earned at iHeart. How do you know what, if any, benefits/insurance/etc., Danny gets from No Puppet? I'm with drey in saying Mike on Forest Lane was harsh. 100%. I mean, why make such a comment? Says more about Mike on Forest Lane than anything. But why are you making up shit to "defend" Danny? Unless. Are you Danny? I don't think you are. I'll go as far as to say that you have nothing to do with No Puppet. If you're going to bullshit, at least do it in a somewhat plausible, convincing manner.
No. I'm not. By dint of Fan and Jake saying they make less than half of what they earned at The Ticket and Danny's public admisdion of esrning far more at The Freak, the deduction is rsther simple, onvious, and not cooked up. You have already lied and therefore have zero credibility.
I hope so. The toxicity of the self righteous cumulus boot lickers is exhausting as is the claims that No Puppet will soon be a media empire rivaling Barstool Sports. Hate to both sides this but lots of moronic back and forth vitriol with literally no discussion about various aspects we like or dislike on any particular Ticket show. Hope P-man starts some topical threads and starts removing Dumbzone vs Ticket gibberish
You all over da place, aren't you, Zoo Hoo. Thing is, I know hoo hoo. By my count we're up to 4. Let's say we get it to the next prime. I love enigmas, you love enigmas, primes are enigmas. By that account, 5 would be the 69 (!). I do like your work, cuz. You and I keep this thing afloat. Why, without us, this place would be another thin-lipped, too much smoke smokey eyed, Tri-State honey trap. Now that we have these preliminaries out da way, let's get down to it: How may I facilitate your aspirations to be the next Hemingway?
I hear you, My Mormon Jacket, to a point. I don't think most who express doubts about TDZ and DZ/ex-Ticket adjacent endeavors are Cumulus boot lickers. As well, not all DFs have very unreal expectations for all things No Puppet. Some do exist on both sides, for sure. I do agree wholeheartedly that the volume shooting vitriol, the snark, the snipes, the constant critiques of others' intelligence, prose style, accusations of being X, Y, or Z, etc., are nothing more than the expression of toxicity for the sake of toxicity, and so, have pretty much ruined this once excellent space.
In the spirit of the latter half of your comment, I'll say this: I've noticed a real bonding between the hosts, across the board, that's been missing since the departure of Dan and Jake (and to some extent, Sirois and Danny). I especially see this where Matt and Sean are concerned. I'm glad this is happening. This is how you move on and forge a new path. This is how TSS and TI become the latest (and future) generation of listeners' favorites, their OGs, and help to form their Halcyon Days.
A friendly reminder - in the midst of whatever sewage seems to be frequently showing up here - is that there's currently a media outpost going by the name DLLS. That's so insanely funny to me. DLLS. They make shirts and ballcaps, apparently Not as a joke?! So funny.
Good luck to DLLS/All City. I mean it. But the sports market is already saturated and is in fact fading with the younger and youngest demos. They don't care. They scroll and swipe. They meme. That's it. So with all due respect to Jasmine Sadry, Julie Dobbs, Dan, Jake, and all the rest, while you truly think you're embarking on something progressive, something that IS the future - - - - - you're not. Indeed, like the Cowboys, you're already three steps behind everyone else. Sure, you once used new fangle computers and had The Flex Defense. But that was 50 lifetimes ago. Things move real fast these days. Liquidity is the name of the game. This pod thing is already past its best by date. Was always and only ever a new skin on the same old same old. It's not that the ship sailed; nope; it never left port. Sorry.
Thank you for pointing out the very thing I've been saying for well over a year here. There is no difference, at heart, between a podcast and terrestrial radio, except one you pay for and are at the whim of a creator's ever evolving schedule vis-a-vis content, the other, gratis and static (sans vacations). This idea that with a pod you have the "freedom" to create whatever content you like to cater to a particular audience is superficial if your intent is to actually make a viable living. Let's use The Boys as an example. Exactly, in what way are they any different in content, presentation, and modus operandi than The Ticket? Think about it. They do remotes. They have advertisers. They discuss nothing different than they did on The Ticket. They have a producer. They do drops. I can go on. There is no difference. OK. They can say "fuck." Point taken. The only main differences are: they're mostly (not always) a day or two behind any breaking story, provide far less content, and charge you for it (the price matters not). I won't get into monies earned, et cetera here. I'm merely talking about the over all listener experience.
I have already said it. He is replacing Sean on the Sweet Spot. Cumulus is paying him Gordon Keith amounts of money to return. They are getting rid of Sean and keeping Mino to relate to the young hip and cool crowd.
The departures of Rhyner, Mikey, Danny, Julie, Dan and Jake didn't hurt the Ticket but sadly the same thing can not be said for our beloved MTC. It seems that every since Mikey left the site has been in turmoil that only got worse when Dan and Jake left. I miss the old days of predicting when the Ticket would implode because no one on it had any real talent.
This steak is tasty. Those mashed potatoes are too salty. My farts don't smell as bad as hers. They are going to the picture show. The cow sleeps upon the grassy knoll. Bread costs a lot these days. Aloe is a succulent. Bakeries often emit pleasant aromas.
Get back to work, TC! NP isn't paying you to f around on these monkey bars. By the way, thanks for hooking me and Jake up with that lawyer douche buddy of yours. Pro bono, my non gluten ass.
Every time I’ve heard her recently she seems half drunk. It’s fun to joke about being a wine mom or whatever, but cracking a canned margarita at 11am in a downtown office building is not indicative of healthy behavior.
I posed this question a long time ago when the freak was still in its infancy, so I’ll ask it again now that we know more. So it seems dz fans and the no dz fans can agree that the hangzone was most likely going to move over to the freak when the noncompete was up. The freak launched prior to Dan and Jake’s noncompete being over. Why? Dan and Jake being a morning drive time slot, would be some form of real anchor to the station. Should rhyner and others had some cache, but launch a station with out one your drive time shows being ready yet? Why? I’m not saying the station would’ve lasted, but it would’ve had a better shot at least.
it was nothing more than a poorly calculated risk.
those who talked iHeart into the format were convinced they would establish a better base of ratings and be competitive for when DandJ quit and became available. BTW, the plan was for them to take the PMD shift, Rhyner re-retire and compete against the Hardline (hence Bob's very public emotional reaction). But to answer your specific question, they couldn't wait to change the format, the Eagle was dead, Ben and Skin were under contract and had somehow sold iHeart the plan. From the start it was always a question of time and if the station could survive long enough to outlast dan and jake's non-compete.
But as we now know, the station failed -> never produced any ratings, lost millions of dollars in revenue, and the change out of market managers late in 2023 effectively killed off any negotiations with DandJ, who had to pivot to the "Plan B" they never really wanted to do.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't realize it was PM drive. I remember people bringing up "Dan's a morning guy now!" For evidence of them taking the AM drive time slot lol. The Rhyner re-retiring thing makes a lot more sense.
Like I said above, my bad for the timeline being off. But evidenced by this blog, many seem to be in agreement that Dan and Jake planned to go to the Freak. 6 months, 1 year, whatever, why would they launch the station without them ready?
They upped the monthly sub fee and now have different (and differently priced) tiers. It's what had to happen if it is to continue on. There's a rather comical "piece" on DZ reddit laying out the case for why a DF should not unsub. Hey man, I get being in on the groundfloor of something and having a passion for it, but there's this almost cult like behavior by some of these people. One thing I don't get is if Danny and Julie (and soon, presumably, Sirois) had little to nothing to say for almost 2 years, why will they now suddenly be compelling for more than a month, if that? It's all jiggles and giggles when you pop on, pop in, and do the old wham bam thank you ma'am. It's another to have to be "on" on the reg. Ask Sirois. But they'll keep banging their heads against the wall as long as someone, anyone, tells them they shit gold.
Good luck with your bottoms, No Puppet people. Something tells me they're gonna need it.
They will never admit it, but I think they are starting to regret leaving the safe confines of the mothership. Especially Dan. What’s he supposed to do if Jake’s situation is serious and never comes back? Would people still subscribe without Jake? They have actually lost subscribers recently and will probably lose more who don’t want an increase in price. Bad decision coach!
I just don't get any of it. They have modelled their enterprise exactly, to a T, after the very place they left. Except now they make far less money, have far fewer (maybe none?) benefits, I imagine their insurance isn't a good, no 401K or the likes, all the pressure and immense stress that comes with running a business, and yet still talk about the exact same things and in the same manner as they did at TT. Oh yes, as someone else pointed out, they can say 'fuck.' They're even doing remotes, having listener meetups, ad spots, the whole shebang. Look, 3 years from now we might all have egg on our faces and 6 extra inches around our waists due to the amount of crow eaten. They might be a living the dream, as it's oft said. But I believe while that in theory the idea is good, I also believe that at this juncture, it's premature. Unless you are someone already nationally, worldwide famous, to actually generate the sort of income they aim to earn (need to earn), is going to be very very difficult to say the least. Even more so when your audience is a niche, localized, and therefore bounded by a ceiling that you might've already hit. That is, unless you get some serious money behind you. But guess what that means? It means that in reality, you're no longer your own boss, are beholden to others who've invested in you, which means ostensibly you are right back at TT. I do believe there'll come a day when such an endeavor (with lofty aims such as TDZ) will be viable. Just not now.
Ga-gree. a price increase for "exclusive content" like Mom Pod and TC's thing - no thanks.
This ship looks to be cracking, water is slowly filtering in. But drinks are still be served, & the band continues to play. All is calm, so says the Captain. Smooth sailing.
All it means is either a lot more work, having to constantly come up with, gin up fresh content. If not. If you start repeating/recycling content, you begin to lose subs. And if your output begins to taper, subs jump ship en masse. I'll say it one final time: In the first days of TF, Julie had her own named segment. It lasted roughly 3 weeks. By her own admission she struggled finding things to discuss. She should've been busting with ideas at that early stage. Creating content is hard. Doing it on command, harder. I've been skeptical of the DZ won't be around this time next year crowd. Well, this move is either going to prove said crowd prescient or full of it, and do so in fairly short order. These changes involve not only Patreon, but also Substack and YouTube. It's a lot to maintain, and to do so and do it properly, professionally, requires a goodly amount of time and money. And that's in addition to what I said regarding content creation.
The DZ price hike has really supercharged the cult mindset over on Reddit. Pretty funny to watch the Jake Jr. socialists call anyone who says they don’t feel like paying $10/month for a podcast a pathetic Burger King worker.
More 'sodes? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!!!?!!!! I'm taking all my buku Trajan bucks and imma pay for every tier! All those 'sodes! So many 'sodes! Say, how many 'sodes does it take for a DF to get their fill? INFINITY!!!!! Gimme them 'sodes!
I rarely visit reddit, but checked it out. What I find the funniest is how many of them use ticket drops for everything and not D&J ticket drops, any and every one. For folks who are so anti-Ticket, they sure still lean on Ticket lingo. Oh well, wish the boys the best. Will be interesting to see what subscriber numbers look like in a month or two.
Catman made the right decision- in Feb of 2020. Moving Robert Sturm to 3-7 was the right decision. Promoting Jacob Kemp to 12-3 was the right decision.
And then....a few. years. later.... Daniel McDowell made the wrong decision. Jacob Kemp made the wrong decision.
Sometimes you eat the bar, & well....sometimes it eats you. Strikes & Gutters, my Ticket dudes.
This was a very informative watch/listen for me. I had not seen or heard any of it before but the Socialistic commentary from Mike and the seeming lack of understanding of labor markets was illuminating for me as as to possible contributory beliefs/motives for much of what transpired over the last couple of years. Thank you for posting the link...
I just watched a little bit of DZ livestream that appears to be in a hotel boardroom with zero chairs for the 15 or so ppl that showed up....Dan does not appear to be handling things very well. Buckle up bracket-man, its all off-road terrain from here on out!
There are things that can be said about certain things going on with certain people that I will not say. But let's just say the onset, the timing, and the (continued) circumstance says it all.
Yes, that sounds cryptic to the point of silly. I admit as much. But if you've been following along from the beginning, it's not difficult to read betwixt the lines.
I agree with those who think all parties made some rather huge, even life altering mistakes. All. Not just Jake and Dan. Not just leaving The Ticket, either.
I contend several Pied Pipers tricked themselves and others by obscuring, conflating reality with the flights of fancy by those who either had no genuine skin in the game and/or who could afford (not necessarily talking fiscal here) to play a game of Russian Roulette.
Now, the principal players and (ostensibly) extras have no choice but to carry out and carry on with the production.
I haven't watched or listened to much DZ stuff since they left, but I tried to a little bit while at work today. What happened where it looked like Dan and Jake were in a backyard messing with a lawn chair, then when I got to actually listen, Dan ended up in a hotel? Lol
Does anyone know if TDZ is still a part of Washed Media? Haven’t heard anything about that in a while. Would not be surprised if that came and gone quietly.
Are you there, 'sode, it's me, ____?
ReplyDeletesode boys 69 julie damny our &690
ReplyDeleteWow. Was this sent while you were drunk driving? Timestamp aligns. Drink responsibly, fool.
DeleteWho's ready for the triumphant return of CdS
ReplyDeletePerhaps other than you, very few. People move on. CdS had its place and time, abd that was many years ago now. Sorry, Chael (it is you-old habits die hard-the handle gave you away).
DeleteWhen and vwhat medium? Good to have you back, Sirois. I dug you and Danny in the mornings.
DeleteWill CdS come in the form of 'sodes?
ReplyDeleteI’ve always enjoyed Sirois and find him an entertaining listen. Will check out his new venture, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteWasn't really a fan of Sirois while at TT or when paired with Rhyner. But when he partnered with Danny, he found his stride and I for one was digging it. Good to see you back on MTC, RagonkForce.
DeleteA lotta FIGJAM's out there that seem to not be able to compute: maybe try a different path, one without microphones. Alas, godspeed Podcaster pups!
ReplyDeleteI see that I'm no longer alone in The Void. A fellow traveler, you, Scruff Duff. And isn't that the rub, eh old chum?
DeleteIt's all akin to the aging, local band.
Dude is occupying his own universe, having a conversation with himself
DeleteAre we not conversing, friend? If a 'sode drops in the webs. . . .

DeleteI checked out various AND sundry pods from the DFW version of All City.
ReplyDeleteBasically, if you're looking for sports heavy, sorta a DFW version of NESN, All City might be your jam. Having said that, I'm curious to see how/if TDZ and the supposed influx of Ticket/Freak ex-pats mixes in with the sportsy vibe.
His LinkedIn page says he was a "Dallas Stars Radio Host" Aug 2014 - Aug 2024, presently "Host, Dallas Stars Podcast DLLS"
DeleteDamn. 10 years. Makes sensehe left. As I said, he, Luds, and Sean werenot pulling punches. Thanks for the info.
DeleteSoane (c'mon, Sirois, So Anonymous), is this going to be a pod or a livecast? What platform? What date will the relaunch fall on?
ReplyDeleteI think you're onto something here. Any return of Sirois will be less than triumphant. My lasting memory of him is totally drunk on Gordon's "twitch show".
DeleteDoes anyone know what's going on with uSave.it? None of the shows are playing from the app, and when I try and log in to the website it says that I don't have permission to access this resource. Is anyone else having issues?
ReplyDeleteI was as well. They appear to have just fixed it this morning
DeleteNot TT related.
ReplyDelete1080 has undergone changes. All are of the bad decision coach nature. Well on their way to being KSKY. I lean a bit to the right if center and even I think KSKY is trash. Sadly, 1080 is heading that way fast.
DeleteMoving away from their news coverage and adding another conservative talker in the PM is another strange decision. They are almost a clone of WBAP now. Between news, weather, and traffic the host get about a 7-12 minute segment and it starts up again.
ReplyDeleteI miss the days of Brad Sham's Sports Central and The Cowboy Hour.
ReplyDeletePoor baby. Cue Vivaldi.
DeleteBaa……Sheep
DeleteYou're the puppet.
DeleteOut of demo- the key is TSL, time spent listening. Because their TSL is so low that people flip over, hear A (as in one) traffic report and they’re on to a different station
ReplyDeleteC
I was not making a point about the rating just on how I consume the station and if the app was not available there is no way I would be a listener.
DeleteNew ratings up at ticket Reddit
ReplyDeletehttps://www.reddit.com/r/theticket/comments/1f8xtz1/august_2024_ratings_update/
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Wut.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it’s become pretty obvious Cumulus wants to go cheap 10-3 and stay strong where it matters.
DeleteI don’t enjoy a ton of 10-3.
DeleteHoly smokes! Checked out the comments under the ratings and are Ticket redditors the dumbest fucks ever or what? If you tell me they're all 18 U then I'll give them a pass. Other than that we're talking world class moron stuff. Unfuckingreal.
ReplyDeleteDone drove those middays into the ditch
ReplyDeleteSorry, cuz. Dat ain't da trooth. Ya best looka into dem numbers. Ya Boys. We e e ell let's jes say yo memberberries be trippin' n trickin' yo ass. Da cope is real fer real. Da cope is strawng wit ya, dawg.
DeleteI saw on one of the local radio groups that TT is the number one billing station in Dallas and all of the Cumulus stations. As long as they are still selling ads I really don't expect much to change.
ReplyDeleteHere we grow
ReplyDeleteWhete we going, skibidiskoo? 'Sode Town? New 'sode drop? 'Sode tone?
DeleteWelcome to The Mom Game
Delete...with Dingu in the producer seat. Just saw the rumor that he might be taking over DZ production duties as well.
DeleteWow. A real banger. Uh, meh. As gasbaggy and all over the road as it was, the Surrealist Creep Troll was onto something with its aging local band analogy when it comes to this bunch.
DeleteSo Blake becomes an official 3rd host? Or is he going elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteSo TDZ is already making half what they did at TT, and now they’re going to add more salary to the budget? I like Danny, but he couldn’t draw much of an audience on free radio, how many people who aren’t already DZ subscribers are going to sub because Danny is now on board?

DeleteI hope 'infectious laugh' and 'breath of fresh air' and being nice gets subscriptions. Because I've never heard any of other defense of her when someone mentions she's not interesting or entertaining.
DeleteMight've worded it a tad, and do mean a tad a bit differently; but in the main, the above comment succinctly puts this latest development into proper perspective.
ReplyDeleteMan, the freq (or freak) just wasn’t supported. The problem wasn’t their ideas But the fact this collection of veteran broadcasters were left to their own devices & basically weren’t managed.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the freq/freak is they could say what they wanted, but in the end, nobody had anything to say.
I don’t see how any of that changes in podcast form.
This time next year:
ReplyDeleteJulie is on The Mom Game, busy being a mother, a wife, and has irons in several fires that are not media related.
I like all of this.
DeleteYou are hard on Dan. Detail?
Mike R has a female in his social posts that is acknowledged somewhere out there as his partner.
She may be the one grinding the spurs.
Dan is in a different --and from a different-- place than the rest.
DeleteJulie comes from an on high socio-economic background; as does her husband.
This time next year
DeleteThey are still doing a podcast
Will not.
DeleteWho cares.
ReplyDeleteThis time next year the Dumb Zone will be no more.
ReplyDeleteAs for The Ticket they will re up The Musers and Bob Sturm for life long contracts.
Do your parents know you stay up past your bedtime?
DeleteVery sad attempt.
They don't read this. They don't care. 69. Edgy.
Touch some grass, friendo.
DeleteGonna have to better, lil buddy. We have higher standards around here. You troll, you go hard. Now take this weak shit back to yo basement bedroom at yo momma's house.
DeleteWhat do you do exactly? Have you ever tried to go off and start something on your own or do you just sit and wait for the boss to tell you that you did a good job and here’s a lolypop. Hmmm. I just want everyone to do well that’s all I am saying.
DeleteThey don't see this. Just. Stop.
DeleteI see it.
DeleteStop it. TC loathes this sute. TC is has convictions. TC wouldn't deign to type in this URL, much less leave a comment. Go back to the drawing board, turbo.
DeleteWe all see it
DeleteDFW can't get enough of The Mom Game as evidenced by their meteoric rise and hordes of fans that you literally see all over the area.
ReplyDeleteThe easiest thing to do now a days is to start a podcast network, post a video on You Tube, bam, we launched! Farewell washed up media or whatever that thing was called.
^^^^**facts
DeleteWhen did this fake pseudo intellection writing style become so ubiquitous on this site? Why not just talk like a normal humanoid and say stuff like: "Musers and HL doing real well" "Dan and Jake pod is enjoying mild success and they seem to be struggling in efforts to scale up to something bigger". Instead we get garbled flowery writing styles likely generated by an early version of a LLM.
ReplyDeleteBeats me
Delete"just talk like normal humanoid" Sorry, bud, you lost the plot. Go home.
DeleteIt was said in one of the earlier posts that Dan has his house for sale. That is not correct. It wasn't hard to search the listings and see the house is not currently for sale nor has it been for sale since Dan bought in 2009. Do better.
ReplyDeleteThat was not a serious post
DeletePlease reread the comment in question. You have grossly misunderstood it.
DeleteIn regards to DZ, & their current offerings being a year removed from the Restraints of Ticket/Cumulus Management--
ReplyDeleteDan,Jake,& Blake - "I love you, but you are not serious people".
is this your ass ess ment or a quote? if the former, you are astute. if the latter, they offer their services at $6.9. they also, and especially, the mastered one, are almost always *exclusively* wrong in their opinions on everything from sports (a supposedley expertise) and politics and well, everything.
DeleteI saw the Dumbzone boys have a new TV show on Fox. Also saw an ad for the ticket. Pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteIt is on channel 27 5 nights a week at 9pm, in case anyone wants to check it out.
DeleteDoes it sound to anyone else like Junior is broadcasting from somewhere else? Several times in the past week it has sounded like there’s a slight delay and he doesn’t sound like he’s in the studio with the other two.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like Junior is either in his garage studio in Dallas or his home away from home in the mountains.
DeleteJunior tested positive for COVID and was remote last week(?) and is currently dealing with laryngitis and had to leave the show early today.
DeleteThe DZ "Boys" by their own admission are making less than half of their former salaries, with none of the benefits. And now they have a "tv show" on ch 27. You know, like the old Ticket TV back in the day. This "empire" is full on Atlantis within a year. Unsustainable.
DeleteWeird how the same people one year ago were saying that in a year The DZ would fold
ReplyDeleteNo one said that. Stop lying. They saud let's see where things stand in a year, which is markedly different. Liars lying, go figure. They don't see this. Do you understand that?
DeleteThe problem with anyone predicting success or failure for TDZ, is that most of it is subjective.
ReplyDeleteThis art is good. That food tastes bad.
DeleteWhat happened to the big return of CdS?
ReplyDeleteY'all quit shitting on each other. It's fucking gross. Love this place. Let's play a clean game.

ReplyDeleteNothingburger of a meh.
DeleteThe Dumb Zone, Mike Rhyner, Sirois, Julie, Danny, TC, Ty, Jer and everyone who left in the last four years (that actually had some worth or talent) are traitors to me. They harmed the Ticket and for that I hope they all fail and I think they will. Most people that have left the station or have been fired have been massive failures.
ReplyDeleteLoyal to a corporation. Sad! Anyone should be able to leave any job they hold if they feel like it betters them. I’m sure you have done the same thing.
DeleteEither CTM and Hector is the same person, ginning up faux discord, or CTM is trolling and Hector is dingdong, or both are serious and therefore both are dingdongs.
DeleteCompany loyally of that nature is a mistake. People have a right to try and improve their career. We can think DnJ made a mistake or the freq was misguided, but you can’t fault anyone that wasn’t a Tier 1 host for taking a host gig.
ReplyDeleteYou may not believe they have the chops, but that doesn’t mean they don’t believe in themselves.
Deletehttps://barrettmedia.com/2024/09/12/the-ticket-to-join-dallas-stars-victory-streaming-service/
ReplyDeleteStars on a free stream and Mavs on Ch. 29 (channel 29? what the hell is that?). It is a different world.
DeleteWhat a bunch of first semester of business school word salad.
ReplyDeleteI'm in agreement with everything you said, Rick.
ReplyDeleteFirst, it was Cumulus' fault. Then iHeart's fault. Now, it's "large media companies shov(ing) out of market content down (the listeners') throats" - they're paying her for this? (exactly what out-of-market content is she whining about, btw?)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many fundamental, 101, business mistakes being made with this venture I stopped counting back at "Let's put this on video".
ReplyDeleteI actually do hold it against them. As another commenter pointed out, they had it made. They shit the bed. Jake is roughly my age, and wanted a job at the chicken more than anything. I suppose he didn’t like how the sausage is made. Even so—and everybody still employed there says it—there’s nothing quite like being a host at the station.
ReplyDeleteAn aside : as a tenured professor of American lit, many of you should read more Carver and less Dave Wallace / Ishmael Reed. Maximalism is great. If you’re great. Ugly when you ain’t.
Dingu Balis going from producer of the Hardline to producer of the Mom Game podcast. Name a bigger fall. I’ll wait.
ReplyDeletePretty harsh.
DeleteHe is making more money working for No Puppet than he did working for Cumulus, so where is the fall, exactly?
DeleteSo, who are you?
DeleteYet here you are making the same claims (er, guarantees) about the same kinds of things.
DeleteAnd yeah, of course he’s making less than the 6 figs he was making from iHeart. But nobody was claiming that.
No. I'm not. By dint of Fan and Jake saying they make less than half of what they earned at The Ticket and Danny's public admisdion of esrning far more at The Freak, the deduction is rsther simple, onvious, and not cooked up. You have already lied and therefore have zero credibility.
Delete*Dan*
DeleteAnd Blake makes twice what he made at Cumulus. Dan and Jake making half says nothing about what anyone else at No Puppet is making.
DeleteYou are a liar and are incapable of simple inferences, of seeing past your nose. Stop it. You've lost.
DeleteRead your sentence out loud.
DeleteMeow.
Boy howdy have these discussions just become toxic.
DeleteDid it for this exact reaction from you, Zoo Hoo. Thank you for shopping. BTW, it's you. Yeah, baby, it is.
DeleteI fear the P-man may have had just about enough of this.
ReplyDeleteI hope so.
DeleteYou all over da place, aren't you, Zoo Hoo.
DeleteI hear you, My Mormon Jacket, to a point.
DeleteIn the spirit of the latter half of your comment, I'll say this: I've noticed a real bonding between the hosts, across the board, that's been missing since the departure of Dan and Jake (and to some extent, Sirois and Danny). I especially see this where Matt and Sean are concerned. I'm glad this is happening. This is how you move on and forge a new path. This is how TSS and TI become the latest (and future) generation of listeners' favorites, their OGs, and help to form their Halcyon Days.
Reports are that Jake has quit the Dumbzone and is coming back to The Gentle Ticket to replace Sean Bass.
ReplyDeleteThat would be worse than when Norm stabbed Larry Brown in the back
DeleteI like it, start some equally idiotic speculation about people coming back to The Ticket.

DeleteA friendly reminder - in the midst of whatever sewage seems to be frequently showing up here - is that there's currently a media outpost going by the name DLLS.
ReplyDeleteThat's so insanely funny to me. DLLS. They make shirts and ballcaps, apparently Not as a joke?! So funny.
Carry on.
Sorry.
DeleteThank you for pointing out the very thing I've been saying for well over a year here.

ReplyDeleteI have already said it. He is replacing Sean on the Sweet Spot. Cumulus is paying him Gordon Keith amounts of money to return. They are getting rid of Sean and keeping Mino to relate to the young hip and cool crowd.
ReplyDeleteNo puppet indeed
Deletemakes total sense that Cumulus would think that Mino is hip and cool
DeleteThe only Ticket host less hip and cool than Mino is Sean Bass so I guess it's an upgrade

DeleteThe departures of Rhyner, Mikey, Danny, Julie, Dan and Jake didn't hurt the Ticket but sadly the same thing can not be said for our beloved MTC. It seems that every since Mikey left the site has been in turmoil that only got worse when Dan and Jake left. I miss the old days of predicting when the Ticket would implode because no one on it had any real talent.

DeleteRefresh, Plainsman?
ReplyDeleteGood God, Julie is such a beating to listen to. I fear with Jake’s absence we will be getting more of her.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I’ve heard her recently she seems half drunk. It’s fun to joke about being a wine mom or whatever, but cracking a canned margarita at 11am in a downtown office building is not indicative of healthy behavior.
DeleteDan needs to coach her up and point out that this ain't the asthma field
DeleteSo who is the biggest failure / loser from the people who left / got fired the past 4-5 years or so?
ReplyDeleteMichael Howard Rhyner
DeleteThomas Mitchell
DeleteDo you mean Cray Tray?
DeleteMike Sirois. No question.
DeleteA lot of ego's took a hit, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to say D&J, just because of what they left & that they never got the opportunity at that 97.1 PM drivetime shift.
ReplyDeleteYour timeline is off. The Freak launched in 2022, well before Dan and Jake even left the ticket.
DeleteMy bad. Makes it make even less sense then.
Deleteit was nothing more than a poorly calculated risk.
Deletethose who talked iHeart into the format were convinced they would establish a better base of ratings and be competitive for when DandJ quit and became available.
DeleteThe Freak launched in October 2022. DMN announced they were leaving KTCK publicly in July 2023.

DeleteLike I said above, my bad for the timeline being off. But evidenced by this blog, many seem to be in agreement that Dan and Jake planned to go to the Freak. 6 months, 1 year, whatever, why would they launch the station without them ready?

DeleteSo how does it all work now?
DeleteThey upped the monthly sub fee and now have different (and differently priced) tiers.
DeleteGood luck with your bottoms, No Puppet people.
ReplyDeleteI just don't get any of it.
DeleteGa-gree. a price increase for "exclusive content" like Mom Pod and TC's thing - no thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis ship looks to be cracking, water is slowly filtering in.
DeleteBest of luck to them all.
The DZ price hike has really supercharged the cult mindset over on Reddit. Pretty funny to watch the Jake Jr. socialists call anyone who says they don’t feel like paying $10/month for a podcast a pathetic Burger King worker.
ReplyDeleteMore 'sodes? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!!!?!!!! I'm taking all my buku Trajan bucks and imma pay for every tier! All those 'sodes! So many 'sodes! Say, how many 'sodes does it take for a DF to get their fill? INFINITY!!!!! Gimme them 'sodes!
DeleteI rarely visit reddit, but checked it out.

I had not seen or heard any of it before but the Socialistic commentary from Mike and the seeming lack of understanding of labor markets was illuminating for me as as to possible contributory beliefs/motives for much of what transpired over the last couple of years. Thank you for posting the link...
DeleteThere's a DF on their reddit page wondering how he could pay Jake and Dan's mortgage
ReplyDeleteCheck out Wednesday's 840 bit. Guy Sports. The whole thing's a direct shot, and it's pointed.
ReplyDeleteI just watched a little bit of DZ livestream that appears to be in a hotel boardroom with zero chairs for the 15 or so ppl that showed up....Dan does not appear to be handling things very well. Buckle up bracket-man, its all off-road terrain from here on out!
ReplyDeleteThere are things that can be said about certain things going on with certain people that I will not say. But let's just say the onset, the timing, and the (continued) circumstance says it all.
ReplyDeleteYes, that sounds cryptic to the point of silly.
Lol
ReplyDeleteStill think the out for Dan and Jake is the Fan 105.3.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if TDZ is still a part of Washed Media? Haven’t heard anything about that in a while. Would not be surprised if that came and gone quietly.
ReplyDelete
