What's the problem with The Ticket's FM signal?  I forget exactly when I noticed this, sometime within the last week or so, but 96.7 FM -- or "ninety-six seven FM," as Ticketarians are instructed to say -- has lost its FM sparkle.

The top and bottom end of the EQ, or something, is missing, and the overall sound has an almost AM quality to it (but it hasn't gone all the way to the primitive AM midranginess fuzz of 1310).

It doesn't make the station any more difficult to listen to, but that signal now has a slight but very noticeable muted, muffled quality to it.  The clarity and resonance and overall sizzle it usually has are missing.

No big deal, but thought I'd mention it, see if anyone else noticed.

  1. I noticed the same thing yesterday regarding the audio quality, and it has persisted today. Hopefully, they'll get it fixed during dry dock.

  2. "Hopefully they'll get it fixed during dry dock."

    Now that's funny.

  4. Anybody else having issues with the stream on TuneIn today? I can't get a connection. It's working well in the SportsDay app, but my preference is to listen with TuneIn.

    1. I haven't been able to access the stream at all today from any of my go to apps, but I also haven't seen any Twitter complaints about it so I assumed it was just me.

  5. Glad I'm not the only one getting a lot of static on 96.7. It's both at my house and my car.

  6. Been getting the Mexican bleed-over for a couple of days. Actually switched over to AM a couple of times.

It was really obvious this afternoon when I switched over to KEGL during the WTDS commercial marathon and I had to turn the radio down.

  7. Screaming at the radio this morning. Will somebody please please PLEASE explain to Jake the concept of the weekly movie serial!

  8. The SportsDay app hasn't worked for me yesterday or today. So, since I live out in the sticks I basically don't get to hear the ticket outside of my daily commute time. This really sucks.

  9. My experience last night and this morning was exceptional.

I left Rockwall around 7:15 pm Wednesday night listening to IG headed eastbound. Usually the signal gets shaky around Caddo Mills and drops off just past Greenville. Last night the signal was still strong 15 miles past Greenville.

This morning at 6:50 the signal was strong when I left the house; again, usually I can't get it until I get to Greenville.

I don't stream very often but when I do the Ticket 1310 app has always worked great for me. Even on my last trip to / from Houston I had very minimal drops.

  10. 96.7 FM continues to sound poor. It's not just the change of seasons, as sometimes the shifting of the atmospheric layers sends things a bit out of tune and permits incursion of Bible-thumpers and salsa. (That's about as much frequency-modulation science as I know.) Whatever has happened, it has resulted in a very definite degradation of the sound of the station. I haven't had static and the programs can be heard and understood -- it's just a lower-quality signal.

  11. Hall of Famer & Super Bowl Champion & Fox A Teamer Troy Aikman deserves better than to be interviewed by someone like JK. Hate this time of year with the vacations. Please hurry back Musers.

  12. Shake Joint has been doing pretty well in the mornings, and silly hardline is the best hardline.

  13. I've said it before, but I'll say it again:

Corby looks down his nose at people who like "superhero movies" but he WON'T SHUT THE EFF UP ABOUT JURASSIC WORLD. Jiminy Christmas!

  17. Spare Wars should be an annual replay tradition, like Alice's Restaurant. I always enjoy the nostalgia because it's literally the first thing I ever heard from The Ticket. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to me when I heard it back then, but it piqued my interest and got me to dive in and pretty quickly become a P1.

It's funny how much fake Dale has changed since then. He actually spoke in complete sentences without any scat singing. He's become a reduction of a reduction of a reduction and it's hilarious.

  19. "Did I screw up that bad?" You bet, Greggo! I don't think he would fare much better on this site than Corby has. Williams was an ass-clown of the highest order...and a bad liar to boot. Keep making those candles buddy!

  20. The very fact that he made that statement only shows him for what he is: that is, full of shit, still, after all these years. Yeah, GW, you screwed up at The Ticket, with ESPN, with Big Dick Hunter, and finally with The FAN. And it was the same EXACT screw upS, not singular, plural, at each stop: lies, substance abuse, more lies to cover up the lies, throwing others under the bus-including friends, and then some.

He still can't quite come clean. That's why all the mea culpas are merely his way of getting out of "trouble." It's the same b,s. Johnny Manziel pulls. "Yeah, I messed up, I'll do better, it's my fault and I have to own up to and pay the price." Only to go out and do the same thing over and over and over......then only to, at the end of the day and when his true feelings and stance comes out, to say things like "Did I screw up that bad?" Or in Manziel's case, after the mea culpas and the I deserve what I gets, to get angry about being benched-i.e., about getting his just desserts. Greggo is no different.

"I'd walk backwards, if I could do it twice (paraphrasing here)." Then "Did I screw up that bad?" Enough, Greggo. Seriously. Enough. Even in taking a supposed positive and high road, he doesn't. Nope, he threw Mike under the bus with that statement.

I don't like being so harsh, but dammit, such a statement is so telling, so tone-deaf, and yet says all you need to know.

  21. I can see Mike being at the point (8 years ago or whatever) where he just doesn't want to deal with it anymore and has moved on. It would probably be a good idea for Greggo to do the same.

Side Note: Anytime Donnie wants to work with Corby and Danny I'm all for it, he's a nice balance to those two especially when it comes to pop culture.

  22. Boo agree. I only got to hear a couple of extended cuts of the Corby-Donovan-Danny Hardline, but what I heard was terrific. It was the Silly Hardline that the selfsame Boo has singled out for praise on this thread and elsewhere.

And, although only a single show, what I heard supports what I've said in these pages before. When Corby is called upon to run a show, or participate in one, sans Mike, the results are almost invariably good. No doubt in my mind that when Mike hangs up his mic, a Corby-led show where he's paired with the right mature voice (Donovan a perfectly good idea here) would be well worth a shot, even a drive shot.

  23. Agreed about today's HL. What's more, I think Donnie being added to the mix today--after having done his show and knowing he'll be doing a late night Cowboys postgame show tomorrow--was absolutely done for a reason. I think we might be seeing the future of pm drive on The Little One. I really do. If that's the case, let me re up my P1 status for another, hopefully, decade or more ride. Give the 10-12 slot to TSJ or Jake and whomever once Norm hangs it up and away we go.

Salty stuff from the 3-7 combo today. Salty stuff, indeed.

  24. I didn't get to hear much of today's HL, but this one struck me: Jake trying to argue in favor of dad's in the delivery room by implying a direct correlation from pappy's presence to the drop in infant mortality rates and longer lifespans in recent decades. Yeah I'm sure that daddy yelling "PUSH" was all a few generations of newborns needed to get over the hump. And as always it was the snarky condescension with which it was uttered that reminds us that we're ultimately all just a bunch of old f***s who must be SG if we're not as progressive as our hipster superiors

    "Medicine schmedicine!"
