A home for those who love almost everything about The Ticket (1310 AM, 96.7 FM, Dallas-Fort Worth), and who would like to discuss -- respectfully and fondly -- their thoughts on how (and whether) to eliminate the "almost."
I tuned into Ryan MedellĂn, DJ Ringgenberg, and Matt Bermingham on the new Saturday midday show.
I thought it was real good for a debut effort. It was a little nervous, a little giggly, one bit in particular (bombastic intros to the the contestants for one of the contestants) went on too long, but overall I thought it bade fair to be a worthy replacement to the Siroises. Apparently, at least according to them as revealed in the mix with the Kickaround, this is not an audition or temporary experiment, but something added to the schedule in pen.
I have to applaud Jeff Catlin in given an opportunity to some of the hard-working tierless on the station.
These lads need a name for their show. Let's help 'em out. I'll think about it.
Agreed. Happy to see Catman dishing the ball to the deserving. True, DJ hasn't been here as long as the others (or much of the JV for that matter), but he's worked his tuckhus off since coming aboard. There are more than a couple of long time JVers who like to publicly piss and moan (some even have their own weekend show and other on-air roles) but who also take the path of least resistance and yet believe a spot on the Varsity squad is now somehow owed to them.
Scattershooting while wondering whatever happened to Mike Sirois? And whatever happened to the legion of you have lost a listener listeners so vocal after his departure?
Funny how quickly things move on. It's like he was never on the station. If Rhyner can leave and nothing really changes ratings and ad-rev wise, then you can bet your money maker the resignation of Sirois doesn't even register as a pimple on a gorilla's ass. But it's a testament to how a handful of loud, incessant voices on the sosh can make it seem like everyone's thinking as such. A few come to mind.
Speaking of reddit. What an absolute s hole cesspool. I'm so glad that that bunch of Jacobites (not all, though) don't represent the majority. If they did, we'd be in serious trouble. Just to head certain folks off at the pass, the reddit clown show is totally bipartisan. Lefty moonbats and Righty wingnuts unite for the common cause of stupidity and vulgarity....all presented under the aegis of "logic." (Of course, these twats wouldn't know the difference between modal and meta if it knocked their collective micropeen in the dirt.)
I've wondered about the influence of social media on the JV myself. Davey was briefly a full time JV (HL Tickerman) and then for a decade or two more a part time/fill in JV. I think that's why he gave that weird and uncalled for "let me pre say" soliioquy of sorts his first official day on THL. That is, he still had a JV mindset; where the vocal minority that is social media rings loudly in the ears and on the heart. Because that's what it reeked of, to be honest.
If the Twitter, reddit, Whatsapp, and whatever else soc med crowd were as strong and influential as they and some Ticket employees think: Corby would've been sacked at least 5 years ago, Mike S would've taken taken Norm's hosting job while forcing Norm to publicly flog himself for daring to want to continue to do his job, Junior would on his own accord slink off into a dark corner and die along with his Boomer NBA takes, Julie would be given a Living Wage of no less than 5 mil per annum and only work when convenient, Jake would be credited for single-handedly inventing contemporary sports and guy talk and a data driven anthropology , and Dan would be strung up and burned in effigy while simultaneously being heralded as a comedic sports genius.
Being an overly sensitive guy who has to ask his significant other for permission to perform oral on her is also no way to go through life little man. Be the real man that she wishes you were.
Carlton Maxwell has run his course and should be sent to the Island of Misfit Characters to live out his days. I think when Gordo gets bored with a character he takes cranks up a single element of them to a level that makes them very one note.
You usually have a point, Surly. This time you don't. Reddit, including The Ticket page, is rife with this sort of immature, ad hominem, creep show surrealist crap. I read it every few days. Though it must me said that there are also a lot of solid comments to be found.
MTC Survey: Guesses, Guesstimates, and Gauges.... We ask, you decide....
1. What ever became of Mike in Duncanville?
2. Will Sirois ever reappear on the DFW airwaves?
3. Was Mike Rhyner merely good at letting the game come to him, and then he wasn't, and then he got exposed?
4. Is Danny Balis the smartest of the Movin' On Club, the one who is done with it and will truly let go?
5. Who has the biggest case of Imposter Syndrome at The Ticket?
6. Who is the biggest imposter at The Ticket?
7. Will we ever be treated to another Norm & Mare Bear Travel Infomercial?
8. Who will blink first (i.e., quit) in the game of Chicken that is hosting Diamond Talk, Ty or Sean?
9. Why did The Ticket allow Drag n Brag to air for several years on Friday nights and yet has not aired an actual local show past 7pm (weekdays or weekends) since the late 90s?
Anyone know why all 3 HL hosts were off Friday? Kinda odd. I'm telling ya, there's a strange vibe going on up there. Strange vibe with some head scratcher decisions, with a succession of head scratcher departures.
1. I imagine he still lives in Duncanville, still listens to The Ticket and is in a constant state of apoplexy. That and has "debates" with Norm, Jake, Bob, Corby, Craig, and Gordo on an hourly basis.
2. He might show up at Fight Night or even next year's Ticket Stock, but only on his own accord, not as an invited guest. As to on-air, I'd say only if something pertains to Cash's business. And as for landing on another station, I don't see it. MAYBE he could b.s. his way into/onto a KEGL show. That station seems to be undergoing changes. Besides, the thing that now passes for RMS, The Treehouse, was on its last legs before it left the proverbial poop shoot. So who knows. Having said that, I doubt we'll be seeing/hearing much of Mike S going forward. My money would be on him eventually moving elsewhere and sliding into anonymity like the rest of us. Indeed, sans the moving bit, he's already lurching toward the latter. Man, fame is a fleeting thing. No matter what level attained.
3. Alas, I have to agree more with that statement than not. Look, no one can take away what Mike did in founding The Ticket. Moreover, from 94'-06'/07' there was NO more compelling voice in the market. But his last few, no, let's be honest here, nearly decade and a half at the station coupled with the stint at The Athletic, his many Ticket appearance, and the on again/off again Vokal pod have only served to confirm this claim.
4. As someone else already pointed out, Danny was just on-air. Which, sort of (Sorta) surprised me. I would, however, bet we won't see too many more of those pop-ons. Unless he has something to promote (a la Rhett Miller) that he or his son is doing music-related. But I believe on the whole we've heard the last of Danny. To answer the question directly, yes, vis-a-vis Mikes R an S, then yes, hell yes, Danny is the smartest of that particular bunch.
5. If you mean who wrestles with Imposter Syndrome, I'd say hands down it's Gordon.
6. Hmmm. Not sure if I want to tackle this one. All I'll say is that that individual is no longer at the station. That's as close as I'll get to answering.
7. Lord I hope not. Those were painful. But if that's your bag, as another commenter pointed out, Norm and Mary are furiously posting on Instagram.
8. Neither. Only two things break up that tandem bike: (i) one of them quits or is fired from the station, or (ii) Cat/Bennett decide they want fresh voices and replace them both.
9. Again, someone already pointed out Intentional Grounding. Putting that seasonal, once per week offering aside (which, by the way, was the case for Drag n Brag), I REALLY REALLY wish Cat/Bennett would once again air nightly local programming. My guess is that they'd like to but Cumulus has contracts with syndicated shows, etc., and therefore their hands are tied. But I sure would love to see it happen. We used to have shows 6 nights per week back in the early days.
1 Who cares. Had his 15. 2 Absolutely. Next DFW media superstar. Bank on it. 3 Ever seen or heard his KZEW stuff? That's the key to the mystery. 4 Don't think that club's membership drive is over yet. So the jury's still out. 5 Rose nailed it. 6 No imposter up there. Most conflicted would be George. 7 Hope so. A bizarro world, even eyebrow raising dynamic, those two. 8 Sean. Get the sense he's looking for greener pastures and will bolt if presented. 9 Zone Guy had skins and pull within the org. It was his pet project.
All that's well and good, but I wanna know what was the deal with THL being out on Friday for no reason. Specially when the hosts claim they don't know why.
1. I bet he's still a P1 and shows up to the major events like Ticketstock and Summerbash.
2. Gagree with Cracklin' Rose on probably seeing the last of Mike.
3. I think Rhynes just got older and like a lot of people mellowed out a bit and got a little perspective. It's hard being a hard ass and much easier to let shit go and chill out. Seems like that's what happened to Rhynes.
4. Always looked at Danny as an insightful dude. But so is Rhynes. Mike's a different cat than those two. Danny and Rhynes for the draw.
5. Had to look up Imposter Syndrome. Just from the handwringing over the years alone I'll go with Crackin' Rose's choice of Gordo.
6. Can't think of anyone up there now or in the past that fits that bill. That's probably something you find out in a tell all book once The Ticket's run ends.
7. People are too hard on Norm. I'm cool with his after school specials.
8. For the same reasons Anon 3:01 gives but for Ty instead. I've got no idea but seems like he's not a good fit or real happy to be on The Hang Zone. Didn't he and Dan have a few genuine spats in the past?
9. Can't answer that except to say I'm with Cracklin' Rose on this one. Would love to get some local night shows going.
With all the handwringing over the LIV tour, I'm interested to see how The Musers handle Feherty's leaving NBC for it. He's been a long time friend of the station and The Musers especially. But I must say I haven't heard him on their show in a very looooong time. Maybe I've missed the times he's been on or maybe there was either a falling out of sorts or a falling away. I haven't a clue. Whatever the case, I'm surprised a guy who's done so much for active servicemen and women, vets, is a journalist himself, a relatively new US citizen, and pretty vocal about all of those things decided to take the Saudi money. Yeah I am aware of the hypocritical nature of the PGA and many of its flunkies and enablers. So please don't "come at me" with the evils of the PGA. It's just interesting that DF made this decision. More interesting is the fallout. Who's the next big media figure(s) to bolt being the biggest question.
You’re correct, Fehertry hasn’t been on with the boys in a long long time. I had wondered for a while if something had happened there as well, but just this morning they posted audio from the Musers’ honor over the weekend and he left a glowing video message that was played at the event.
I missed that segment this morning. Maybe it'll make the Top Ten. Nearly lost my shit laughing at GXD's, "You think the Saudis will give him a tour of the airport where the 911 pilots trained?" Pure. F'n. Gold.
If true and coupled with the Tweets on Friday claiming they're unsure why they were off....then they're not to be trusted. How does that square with Davey being out, as well? No mention of him being tested.
I've always thought the hosts were full of shit. That includes the we're all besties line repeated ad nauseam.
I like DJ in the ticker role but he has worn on me as a host as the weeks has gone on. His faux confrontational bit was funny for about ten minutes on day one but by Friday its really grating. I realize Mike S was never going to be a real host, etc, etc but I would much rather be listening to Boom 'n 'da House this week. YMMV.
I don't know, KDF, he was just being sportsy and that's how sportsy go. Might he be a bit overeager? Perhaps but that's to be expected. It was his first real shot at playing Varsity. Have you noticed the rather obvious uptick in sportsy segments and overall sportsy demeanor throughout the day? I find it refreshing. We even had THZ talking hockey in July!
For me, whenever Bewm filled in for more than two days in a row it got stale. Bits and Up For Anything gets real old real quick. I know this is an unpopular opinion and it in no way reflects on how talented or what sort of person certain individuals are, but the station is better when it's more sports-centric. I think Davey strikes a very nice balance between sports and (at times pretty edgy) guy talk. Personalities like Sirois are (IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION--not saying in general) are one hit wonders. One hit wonders get old, fast. Sure, you can't hear enough of that tune, it's ear candy. But as the summer wears on and you hear it everyday, well, come September you hope you never hear it again. Years down the road you'll come across it on an oldies station and it'll remind you of that one summer and those good times. Thing is, you probably won't even let the song play to its end before flipping the dial. Again, I only mean this when it comes to The Ticket. I truly believe Sirois would/will make one helluva host on a "Talk that Rocks" sort of station, a la KEGL. Hope to hear him one day soon again. Up For Anything is great and is sustainable when properly situated. No matter how much a small but extremely vocal segment of the overall demo might say otherwise, what got The Ticket to where it is today and what keeps it there is sports talk HUED with a nice dose of guy talk. Not the other way around.
Norm is well past his prime and perhaps should retire, coming back on for the drafts and other special occasions. I read it constantly and I get it. I also get that he's become an uncomfortable listen at times. It has nothing to do with his age per se. An 85 year old that still has it...has it. Period. Ageism is real and should never be tolerated. Norm, however, is not yet 80 and more often than not he doesn't have it. Time to move on, find Donnie another partner and refashion the show. Sirois/Bewm was-is not the answer. Maybe not DJ in particular, but someone like him or someone leaning more toward the Davey edgy/sportsy type is what's needed. Donnie deserves it. Frankly, P1s deserve it. Norm merits every accolade and award that comes his way. But I do think it's time for a change.
I didn't mind the sportsy stuff. That's fine it was the "so you don't love America." type things he kept interjecting far to often when Donnie would make a comment. That is what wore on me. I enjoyed Sirois, I make no claims that he was the next Ron Chapman, or that Norm should have stepped down for him. If people say he wouldn't have made a good host I'm not going to argue that point. I don't feel being sportsy is an unattainable skill, I think anyone can do it by consuming sports and developing contacts.
It's not a skill set, KDF. It's a mode of being, a specific disposition. It can't be taught or "vibed." Developing contacts has nothing to do with interest and aptitude. As to the amount of consumption it would take, think Gladwell's 10k hours theory (proven false over and again, btw) and tack on a factor of 5+. Only someone predisposed for such an intake would stick with it. The contemporary idea that everything is a skill set (a la a program, a la the notion that the human mind is an organic CPU) and can be mastered if the correct algorithm is implemented and properly adhered to is akin to the way in which we anthropomorphize our pets. That is, it is bunk.
I guess we listened to different shows because I didn't hear any sort of "so you don't love America" sentiments coming from DJ. I've tuned in for the weekend show he's now a part of and neither have I been struck by it there, either. This is coming from a P1 who cannot stand when the hosts go down the socio-political path, so I'm fairly keen to pick up on such things. Doesn't mean that I catch everything or every segment, though.
The so you hate America was if I recall correctly actually directed at George over his review of Top Gun. The show where DJ annoyed me with Donnie was on Wednesday where it seemed to me that DJ would interject in a Gordo like manner if Donnie paused to gather his thoughts or would have a “Beef” with Donnie over it because it was Beef Wednesday. It started in cross talk and continued through the first several segments. If it went beyond that I don’t know because I had moved on to a podcast by that point. DJ just road the bit too long, IMO. Again my preference for Donnie and Mike is just that my preference. So maybe I’m not cutting DJ a fair listen. I’ve listened to the weekend show and it’s fine and will probably go one to be a quality show.
I’m going to disagree on talking sports being something innate or difficult to grasp. Radio yes, talking about sports no. Outside of Bob and Jake I don’t think any of the host do a deep dive into why anything that happens on the field happens. They watch the game and commoner on it, usually making many of the same observations is normal joes make. They also have contacts inside the team that’s can give them insight we don’t normally have access to. I will agree that being good at radio is not something everyone can do but I think you can teach anyone that can do radio why you use motion on an offense or the like. They simply, as you said, have to be willing to learn.
Never said it is difficult to grasp nor do I mean innate as in natural athletic ability (which can be acquired to a certain and even fairly high degree) or the likes.
You are correct in that most hosts don't dive hard into the stats like Bob and Jake. But when they do, the MOSTLY understand and go deeper than mere surface level analysis. This comes from decades (especially during childhood and the college/20s years) of being wrapped up, enrapt, by sports. Recall Junior's many stories of his imaginary world of sports while growing up. Junior, George, Rhyner, Dan, etc., all grew up fascinated by sports announcers, scanning the AM dial for distant games being aired, pretending to be color analysts and PbP announcers for their favorite teams, and even having dreams of playing professionally. It's in their blood. No matter whatever hobbies and mid-life loves (e.g., George and music) they've picked up along the way, like Sam Malone, they always return to their first, true love. Actually, radio, like public speaking and many other things, can be not only be taught but also be taught to the degree one becomes decent at it. Compelling? That's a different story. As far as Ordinary Joe (RIP that crappy, short-lived show) and HSOs go, so what? The issue here (for me at any rate) is that there's a difference between someone who lives and breathes sports--or has done so for so long that even if they aren't as die hard as they once were it's still second nature--and can and more importantly wants to talk about it everyday in a sustained fashion than the Ordinary Joe Sports (as opposed to Guy Sports) who ONLY spouts off obvious points at the watercooler. The former makes for a good sports/guy talk radio host; the latter does not. The latter might very well make for good variety/guy/pop culture/up for anything programming, and might make for a nice respite on a sports/guy station from time to time. But put the latter on every day and it'll get real old, real quick.
I didn't hear the Beef Wednesday segment so I can't comment on it. I do take your word, though. Your point about trying to be Gordo is an issue many many many a up and comer JV (including at one time, Jake) have wrestled with in their first through fourth or thereabouts shot at Varsity hours.
Thanks for the exchage, KDF. Nice to have differing views....where no one gets personal and everything stays respectful.
Thank you. There's nothing that we discuss on MTC that should get people to get personal. Reasonable people should be able to share differing views in a polite fashion, I am pleased that we did so.
For you sportsier types, who know the interwebs... Is it possible to get a transcript of Jerry's briefing yesterday. I have a diagramming challenge brewing.
Didn't he say "midget" a couple of times? I did see a clip where he not so stealthily alluded to his healthy booze intake. From Jerruh to Stephen to Jr to Charlotte Britches to Spaulding, et al.....freakin' Arkansas Hillbillies.....the whole lot of 'em. I love every embarrassing, cringey second of it.
There are definitely different standards of behavior for host and normal people. If someone yelled at a fellow employee the way Dan did at Ty today and has in the past there would be an HR s-storm for creating a hostile work environment. It must be a bit, right? Otherwise someone would have come back at him equally hard, I would think.
I got a days off for telling someone to shut the eff up. Different worlds if its not a bit.
Evidently, Dan and Ty have had genuine dust ups on and off air in the past. So my guess would be it's real. If memory serves, didn't Ty accidently call THZ THL yesterday while coming back from McCarthy's presser? Knowing Dan's track record, it wouldn't surprise me if that's the genesis, and whatever took place today gave him cause to express his anger. Several times throughout years Dan has gone off on the JV for that sort of "egregious" error. Dunno. Just guessing.
@10:10 in this case it was because Ty wasn't listening during some bit about the funny voice mail message he had on his phone. When Dan threw it to him Ty wasn't paying attention and Dan blew a casket. This was after in the opening they played one of Ty and Bob's dust ups. I assume the open was a classic example of Dan's passive aggressive nature and sending a message.
I have been giving the changes a try. I actually like Davey a good deal more than I thought I would. DJ is fine in his ticker role. I haven't noticed much difference with Sean at the helm of N&D. Though with vacations and such I don't think they've been together enough to judge yet. I don't think the changes will get me to listen from Noon to 7 much, the host that annoy me aren't changing any time soon.
Be aware of the scam that is the annuity ads being ran on the Ticket by Trajan Wealth. 20% bonus with 10 percent guaranteed returns. These are Mo Fo annuity trap scams being perpetuated by Mr. Trajan. Keep in mind that annuities always make the advisor rich with very little value for the poor consumer who buys these needless products. Annuities are for suckers.
^^^^^^^ Huh? And a link from '19. How about we avoid you and Trajan...
I'm just glad Cowboys training camp is underway, which means the season is around the corner. Frankly, The Ticket often loses its footing when the Cowboys are not front and center. Even an up and coming Mavs squad with its 82 games isn't enough to keep the hosts from going off the rails. Ditto the Rangers and the Stars. Nope. Only Jerry and his flea circus can keep the collective focused on what they do and know best. I do believe by the time we make it through another Cowboys season, the new lineups will feel like home. Let's be real here. As others and I have stated, it's already as if Danny and Sirois were never a part of the thing. But that's the way life go.
Huh^^^^^ A link from 2019 that isn't time sensitive at all. It discusses the sham that is annuities and so called annuity bonuses. I was wrong it is and advertised 25% bonus as advertised on the HL a few minutes ago. Sorry to upset you Anon 639 AKA Trajan shill.
I often wonder if the anons arguing with other anons are the same person doing some sort of Andy Kaufman performance art that is Lost on me. Ervin Kares is also lost on me. I really don’t get the humor in it but all the host seem to think it’s genius.
I've scratched my head over those Trajan commercials myself. Those promised returns are absurd, and if the Securities and Exchange Commission weren't busy with other things I'm pretty sure they'd put a stop to them. I will say, however, that I haven't been able to find any history of complaints against the firm, and no enforcement proceedings.
In general, agree re annuities and most insurance-based estate planning strategies. Not a scam, but not worthwhile, and not appropriate for most retirement plans.
I tuned into Ryan MedellĂn, DJ Ringgenberg, and Matt Bermingham on the new Saturday midday show.

4. Is Danny Balis the smartest of the Movin' On Club, the one who is done with it
and will truly let go?
5. Who has the biggest case of Imposter Syndrome at The Ticket?
6. Who is the biggest imposter at The Ticket?
7. Will we ever be treated to another Norm & Mare Bear Travel Infomercial?
8. Who will blink first (i.e., quit) in the game of Chicken that is hosting Diamond
Talk, Ty or Sean?
9. Why did The Ticket allow Drag n Brag to air for several years on Friday nights
and yet has not aired an actual local show past 7pm (weekdays or weekends) since
the late 90s?
Danny was back this week talking about the Elvis movie.
ReplyDeleteNorm's travel show is on Instagram right now with daily updates.
Uh, there's International Grounding. Though it is on during Cowboy season only and for one night per week only. Still.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know why all 3 HL hosts were off Friday? Kinda odd. I'm telling ya, there's a strange vibe going on up there. Strange vibe with some head scratcher decisions, with a succession of head scratcher departures.
ReplyDeleteIt was extremely odd. Bob was on twitter all day and claimed there was no good reason they all had an off day
ReplyDelete1. I imagine he still lives in Duncanville, still listens to The Ticket and is in a constant state of apoplexy. That and has "debates" with Norm, Jake, Bob, Corby, Craig, and Gordo on an hourly basis.
ReplyDelete2.
Yep, Surly. On a Friday to boot. Wash, rinse, repeat.....odd, odd, odd.
ReplyDelete1 Who cares. Had his 15.
ReplyDelete2 Absolutely.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteYou’re correct, Fehertry hasn’t been on with the boys in a long long time. I had wondered for a while if something had happened there as well, but just this morning they posted audio from the Musers’ honor over the weekend and he left a glowing video message that was played at the event.
ReplyDeleteI missed that segment this morning. Maybe it'll make the Top Ten. Nearly lost my shit laughing at GXD's, "You think the Saudis will give him a tour of the airport where the 911 pilots trained?" Pure. F'n. Gold.
ReplyDeletethink the reason came out and it was the rona corbett caught it and bob is testing for it
ReplyDeleteIf true and coupled with the Tweets on Friday claiming they're unsure why they were off....then they're not to be trusted. How does that square with Davey being out, as well? No mention of him being tested.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought the hosts were full of shit. That includes the we're all besties line repeated ad nauseam.
Davey and Bob are sheltering in place until Monday, barring a positive test. But I do tend toward your sentiment that they're all full of it.
ReplyDeleteI like DJ in the ticker role but he has worn on me as a host as the weeks has gone on. His faux confrontational bit was funny for about ten minutes on day one but by Friday its really grating. I realize Mike S was never going to be a real host, etc, etc but I would much rather be listening to Boom 'n 'da House this week. YMMV.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, KDF, he was just being sportsy and that's how sportsy go.
ReplyDeleteFor me, whenever Bewm filled in for more than two days in a row it got stale.
@ 8:15
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind the sportsy stuff.
ReplyDeleteI guess we listened to different shows because I didn't hear any sort of "so you don't love America" sentiments coming from DJ.
ReplyDeleteI’m going to disagree on talking sports being something innate or difficult to grasp.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct in that most hosts don't dive hard into the stats like Bob and Jake.
@8:58
ReplyDeleteThank you. There's nothing that we discuss on MTC that should get people to get personal. Reasonable people should be able to share differing views in a polite fashion, I am pleased that we did so.
"Manners Maketh Man."
For you sportsier types, who know the interwebs... Is it possible to get a transcript of Jerry's briefing yesterday. I have a diagramming challenge brewing.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he say "midget" a couple of times? I did see a clip where he not so stealthily alluded to his healthy booze intake. From Jerruh to Stephen to Jr to Charlotte Britches to Spaulding, et al.....freakin' Arkansas Hillbillies.....the whole lot of 'em. I love every embarrassing, cringey second of it.
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely different standards of behavior for host and normal people. If someone yelled at a fellow employee the way Dan did at Ty today and has in the past there would be an HR s-storm for creating a hostile work environment. It must be a bit, right? Otherwise someone would have come back at him equally hard, I would think.
ReplyDeleteI got a days off for telling someone to shut the eff up.
ReplyDelete@10:10 in this case it was because Ty wasn't listening during some bit about the funny voice mail message he had on his phone. When Dan threw it to him Ty wasn't paying attention and Dan blew a casket. This was after in the opening they played one of Ty and Bob's dust ups. I assume the open was a classic example of Dan's passive aggressive nature and sending a message.
ReplyDeleteI have been giving the changes a try.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thinkadvisor.com/2019/07/25/exposing-the-annuity-bonus-trap/
^^^^^^^ Huh? And a link from '19. How about we avoid you and Trajan...
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad Cowboys training camp is underway, which means the season is around the corner.
ReplyDeleteYou sussed me out, 7:01. Damn, you ARE good. Did someone get scammed? Or does someone work for a competitor? You seem awfully invested, turbo.
ReplyDeleteSigned,
Upset in Sachse.
Hoo boi, 701 is hot under the sports collar! Hey 720, dude's just looking out for your best interest! Mine too!
ReplyDeleteI often wonder if the anons arguing with other anons are the same person doing some sort of Andy Kaufman performance art that is
ReplyDeleteLost on me. Ervin Kares is also lost on me. I really don’t get the humor in it but all the host seem to think it’s genius.
Not sure, but I will say that there are times of late where it's gotten awfully surreal here. The above exchange being one of them.
ReplyDeleteI've scratched my head over those Trajan commercials myself. Those promised returns are absurd, and if the Securities and Exchange Commission weren't busy with other things I'm pretty sure they'd put a stop to them. I will say, however, that I haven't been able to find any history of complaints against the firm, and no enforcement proceedings.
ReplyDeleteIn general, agree re annuities and most insurance-based estate planning strategies. Not a scam, but not worthwhile, and not appropriate for most retirement plans.
Regarding Dan's relationship with his colleagues -- new post up today. Nice red.
ReplyDelete
