A Diamond Talk Question

If I have a weeknight Rangers home game on through conclusion, I sometimes flip over to Diamond Talk with Sean Bass and Ty Walker.  Always like it, always good.

It's got to be a tough job when things aren't going well for the old Rangeroos, so I always think of them when the team puts together something of a winning streak.

And as married guys with kids running about, I'm sure it interferes with family stuff.

The promos for Diamond Talk, and the online ads, say that it is "Award Winning."  (No hyphen.)  They also say:  "the longest running [no hyphen] post game [no hyphen] show for any sport or any team in the history of Dallas Ft Worth [no hyphen, and "Fort" should preferably be spelled out, although even if it isn't, it should have a period after it] Radio."  What is it with Ticket copywriters and hyphens?

Returning to topic:   Not hard to believe that Diamond Talk would win an award, or more than one.

But what award(s) did it win, and when?

Thanking you in advance.

  1. I believe it received an award\awards during its early years when Mike and Greggo hosted.

  2. It never actually won any awards

(I actually called in many years ago and asked and was never given an answer)

  3. Whoa! Greggo taking a shot at Gordon over on the Twitter (probably a few typos in there, use your imagination):

    Gordon Keith ‏@gordonkeith
I’m so proud of P1, Pulitzer finalist, friend, and mentor @SharonFGrigsby for being named new DMN metro columnist. This is good.

  4. Greggo off his meds today.

Went on to call out Corby suggesting there was woman-hitting in his past. Corby called him on it and Greggo backed off saying he was referring to an old bit.

  5. Yeah, greggo immediately back pedaling in a completely nonsensical fashion. I used to feel bad for the guy because for the most part he had nothing but kind words for the non hardline guys over the years since this departure. Now he just fires off complete BS and when called on it just ignores or lies his way around it. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, that pretty much seems to be the name of the game in our culture the last couple of years,

  6. Yeah, none if that was endemic to our culture until a couple of years ago.

  7. Listening to the CatManster of da 'Muricas reflect on Vinnie Paul. Sounds like that guy has a photographic memory. This is not the first time that I've thought about it. His storytelling is fantastic but includes details that one wouldn't mention unless you were watching it on tv .

  8. @4:53 fair point. Honestly wasn't trying to be divisive or political. Maybe it's not anymore indicative of today vs yesteryear, but it certainly feels that way to me. It just makes me so damn tired.
