The TeeBox Sounds Absolutely Terrible This Morning

The first radio program in history where the hosts gargle their entire conversation.

Of all the lousy audio we hear from remotes, nothing approaches the lousiness of this one.

I'm not even sure how it is possible to make a broadcast sound like this.  It's not overdriven mics; it's not a phone line; it sounds like there's dirt in the cables.

George DeJohn was his usual resonant self, but during the handoff it sounded like NASA having a conversation with someone on the moon.

  1. I have such bad reception that I did not even notice in my neck of the woods... Dont know where else to post this, but I made the screenless segment TWICE on Friday on BAD RADIO. Called the 1877 number and got in. Gave my poison ivy advice to Dan w/ my own special twist. Gave my respects to the deceased Andrew Konig of Growing pains "stay hard boner!" THEN they just put me on hold. Im guessing whomever was running the boards was moving pretty quick. So I waited my turn again and they picked me back up & I suggested a future waiter round table. Great Success. Any ideas where i might be able to find it...?

  2. All you do on this site is complain. Over the last few minutes, I've browsed through dozens of complaint posts. Some of them are valid. Most of them are insignificant and stupid, such as Junior not telling the "right" version of a joke. It's a damn joke. In fact, the whole station is one giant bit with some sports commentary thrown in. They make this very clear. I understand it, they understand it, you have clearly missed it. Take it easy, for the love of God.

  3. P1 Steven, you're a loyal Confessor so you're welcome to post your triumphs here anytime. All I can suggest is that you check The Unticket, who seems to have lots of audio.

As for Anonymous, you're right that there's a fair amount of nitpicking, but I make an effort to find the good stuff, too. Got to keep these guys on their toes -- some of them are getting lazy, and I find myself drifting off to KNTU and even (heaven forbid) NPR. And Junior should have gotten that goddam joke right, for Chrissakes. That joke was funny 30 years ago, but not in Junior's hands, and Junior is one of the wittier guys on The Little One. Let's face it -- anyone who comments on a freakin' sports-talk station, which is essentially about nothing to begin with, is going to be writing blog entries that are pretty much about nothing, too. So if you can't bring yourself to suspend seriousness, you're probably not going to enjoy much of any commentary on The Ticket. But I do appreciate you checking in and will scan my topic list for positive topics I have banked.

  4. Positive post idea???? How about The Musers just annouced their future camp out! I am very intrigued. Brings the fun of THE COMPOUND mixed with the wheels off fun of the great out doors. My listening ears will be ready.

  5. I hear you P1 Steven. I loved and miss the Ticket Compound and am very much looking forward to the camping expedition. Most will be divas so it should make good radio. Can you imagine the scene though? With all of that radio equipment, it should leave a dent on nature.

  6. T4 I agree. I wonder where they will be. Think they will be on some private property or a local camp ground? What about technical issues? IF they are in a state park, surely some P1 will see the radio trucks...
