8:47 p.m. --  That promo about the guy in the crane going up there to listen to The Ticket is shameful.  I only heard it once.  Maybe they've pulled it already.

In fact the promos generally are getting more vulgar and less clever.  I'm sort of embarrassed for the station.  It sounds like they were drafted by Gordon Keith, when he was 14.

  1. The Sternification of The Ticket. Many thanks to the CTO.

  2. Plainsman. NO working stream of ANY kind this morning. Nada, nothing. Not yet on iHeart either. Something's up.

  3. Never mind. Stream back up.

  4. TuneIn Radio is giving me a message saying the stream is not compatible with their app. FStream still works though.

    Still no KTCK on iheartradio.

    Terrible, terrible, terrible.

  5. OK, I get it now with the promos. They're doing a series of tasteless promos that end with "This promo has been rejected." There's the guy-in-the-crane one, and I heard an incredibly smutty one the other day that ended the same way.

Maybe they're making fun of the station's reputation for vulgarity.

    Bad concept.

  6. The "LISTEN NOW" stream on the website has been on and off, mostly on. Off now. 104.1 not audible downtown this morning, 1310 not available in buildings. So no Ticket for me.

  7. In TN there's no stream that will work for me on my iPhone. TuneIn worked earlier but nothing and get the message that it doesn't work and Wunderradio doesn't work either and they ain't on iHeart either. I need my Ticket!! LOL

  9. Yep, FStream working just fine. Better than normal, actually.

  10. How can they be concerned about the stream when they can't even be bothered to put out an FM signal that will make it to the middle of Denton county. I love the little one, but damn it this is frustrating.

As for promos, the "oy vey!" one that mentions Evan at The Temple came across to me as especially cringe-worthy. It struck me as something that would offend me if I were Jewish or sensitive to such things.

  11. Sounds like they're about to announce the official move to iheartradio in the next segment.

Except that KTCK is still not listed as an available station on iheartradio.

  13. http://www.dfw.com/2012/05/27/629066/mark-davis-returning-to-dfw-radio.html

This is relevant because it mentions Cumulus being a pain to work for.

  14. Shaggy's link works on Android too! Don't close your browser, and you can't press the, IDK, the button on top to turn off screen. It's like the podcasts on the Droid. Discussion on DFW-RADIO has picked up today. TuneIn is working today on 3G. Sounds like hell but its working. First time in over a month.

  15. 1310 The Ticket ‏@dfwticket

The migration of all Cumulus stations to iHeart radio has begun, we just haven't made it yet. Its a process.

    Interesting

  16. Pointing the recording setup at http://player.streamtheworld.com/liveplayer.php?callsign=KTCKAM seems to work as far as MMS streaming is concerned - I would caution that this appears to be a temporary solution, however.

Also, mms://live.cumulusstreaming.com/KTCK-AM is still up for me.

We'll get it done; let's just hope the sanitized product is still worth listening to. ;)

  17. Ha!! ap did you listen to the Hardline today? Pretty non-sanitized to me. The boys recalled Big Dumb Danny's days working at a male strip club, and postulated him earning tips by allowing patrons to play donut ring toss with his dong as the ring pole. It was funny.

  18. I agree the crane ad is tasteless. I dont mind when hosts poke fun at these things during segments, because they are the talent and they know the line. The ad people are certainly not talented or smart enough to know the difference/know their place
